1. Lift from front puck only & place stands

The lifting picture shows the jack placed at the rear lifting point ??

Question.
On my C6 Z I lifted both front and rear wheels from the center rib (middle of door) and then place jack stands on normal jack points (with pucks). The C7 doesn't look like the center rib is as strong as the C6. Has anyone tried this? It sure makes jacking the car easy. Thanks

I haven't, and I won't. Looks like a good way to crack the plastic.

Can I borrow it? You don't mind bringing it to Virginia, do you?

It's always at that "sale" price. Great jack. I've had one for 2½ years. Use a 20%-off coupon from a Car & Driver or other car mag ad and you're at $112. Wait around a while and it'll go on sale for around $120, which will bring you down to less than $100 with the coupon.

I have the 3 ton low profile from Harbor Freight. Well made, low enough to get comfortably under the Jack Pucks to lift up to around 20" - but I have never had a reason to take it all the way up.

Picked it up on sale for $89 during one of their parking lot sales.

This is the same procedure I used on my C5 for 12 years with my harbor freight low profile jack and craftsman stands. The only difference is that I use the correct jack stand locations... OP has them on movable suspension parts...movabity+jack stands=bad :-)

Where are the correct jack stand placements for the C7?

But I note the owner's manual for my 2015 actually shows the center of both front and rear cross members as acceptable, too.

Is there a difference in terminology between "optimal jacking locations" and the actual locations to place the jack stands and where the car can rest for an extended period?

I know where to lift it, just not where to place the jack stands after its lifted.

The jacking instructions are in the manual (p. 10-4). Jack the car at one of the blue lifting points and insert a jack stand at the corresponding red point (i.e., left front blue at left front red). I've done this several times since Jake first posted and it works great.

Thanks. However I thought those jack stand locations were questioned in another thread. On the C5, I used the block of wood underneath the front and rear crossmember method.

This is about a fast/simple/safe/reliable way to get the job done...works like a dream.
Doubters, please follow the owners manual.

That diagram was taken from the owners manual (p. 10-3), so I would hope those are the correct lifting points. The colors were added to show where to jack (blue) and where to position the jack stands (red), as per Jake's procedure. Avoid metal-to-metal contact, so use a pad or wood block to protect the car. Both my jack and jack stands have plastic pads on them, the latter similar to those in Jake's photos, all bought at Harbor Freight Tools. The stand pads are here but I don't see the jack pad in their on-line catalog. However, it looks like this one on Ebay. I also have stay-in pucks on the frame lifting points.

What is that round item in the pic, just left of the stand. Referring to the pic of the single rear jack stand.
