Drift using eBreak ?

Drift using eBrake ?
Did anybody ever tried using the e Brake to drift your c7?
Just want to know whether it is possible or it is bad for the car.
I have seen in few videos guys doing some smooth drifting (Not very hardcore drifting) but didn't noticed they used the ebrake for that.
I have a A8. and I'm not sure it is really possible in A8 since there is no clutch.
Thanks.

What's an eBreak? Does your C7 have breaks instead of brakes?
The C7 ebrake is either on or off. There's no way to turn it partially on or modulate it. In a C7 with auto trans it's off if in gear and moving so no, you can't use it to drift.

The C7 as well as most modern cars do not have emergency brakes.
We have a parking brake. Its used to park, not drift.

You don't need the e-brake to initiate a drift in a car with so much power.
Turn off TC, turn the wheel, and stomp the throttle. Say hello to drift. And probably a tree shortly thereafter.

This sounds like a huge safety issue.

Say what?
The possibility of you losing all your braking capacity is infinitesimally small.
But in the extreme case that you did, downshift as much as possible, shift to neutral, turn the engine off, and steer...then try the parking brake.
Peace, out.

In any case, the chances of your primary brakes suffering a catastrophic failure are almost nonexistent. Just throw it in neutral, hold the e-brake switch, and coast to a stop.

Mine has the A6 trans. I did a test on the way back to my office from lunch. The parking brake will not engage with the trans in gear. If it's on it will disengage when you put it in gear and touch the throttle. If the car is moving and you put it in neutral and hold the brake switch up the parking brake does engage and stop the car rather quickly.

As I recall, you can pull the level up to slow the car using the eBrake. It will "brake" as long as you hold the button up. When done "braking" let the button go and the brake will release.
It's not just a parking brake. It's an electronically activated emergency brake meant to be used as such.

Drift using eBreak ?
Does anyone with the A8 even use the parking brake? It's really only needed for the manual car

You don't need an "e-Brake" to drift in high horsepower vehicles. With all of the nannies turned off, stomping the gas and/or popping the clutch will achieve a drift.

This is correct. If you are driving, you have to hold the button up and it will engage your emergency brakes to try and slow you down.
As for the drifiting comment... there is plenty of power here to drift without using an e-brake...
