The numbers 89 and 93 are the load index. Higher number means it is rated to carry a higher load. Read more here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=35

Hey guys,
I have to replace my tires for the first time.
Going with 93Y for the front wont affect the ride at all? Looking online I see that 89Y are significantly more expensive than the 93Ys.
Any help would be very much appreciated as I want to stick with Michelin Pilot Super Sports and I don't want to buy the wrong kind!
Thanks

Michelin engineered a PSS ZP specifically for the C7 with a particular rubber compound. I'd stick with w/ OEM, which is 89Y in front and 95Y in the rear because that tells you it's the C7 version of the PSS ZP. It's not so much the load-rating that's a consideration, it's that I'd rather have the tire designed specifically for the car. Other versions of the PSS were either manufactured as OEM for other vehicles or are generic.
You'll see on some tire charts designations for the manufacturer, indicating it's OEM to a particular vehicle or manufacturer. The same tire in the same size often comes without a manufacturer name tagged to it.

IIRC, the code is three letters with the middle letter being larger than the other two. I posted the codes from mine (front & rear are different) in a thread here within the last year.
It's unlikely that Michelin is making a PSS ZP in the C7 sizes that's not identical to the factory tires, but I believe in "trust but verify".
