Default Corvette Z06 C7.R Special Edition Order Listed for $115,000 on eBay

Even a diehard Corvette fan should balk at the idea of paying $115,000 for the new C7.R Special Edition, which is nothing but a Z06 with a side of RICE (Race-Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements).

I suppose there are a number of folks out there that don't care about money as much as they care about getting the car that they like. That's enough reason for me.

I don't have a problem with Chevy coming out with special editions like this. It's not really for me, since I prefer performance based features. If somebody finds this to be an appealing package, then go for it.

What I don't like is when the dealers do something like auctioning off the right to buy it! Or jacking up their asking price way over MSRP! I guess if people want to pay extra to the dealer, so be it. It's a free country, more or less, but to me it's the same concept as looting. It's just somebody (in this case a dealer) looking for an opportunity to steal.

I not only won't play that game, but I will never do business with a dealer that operates that way. DGDG.com, you're the prime example. Jacking up the prices on base model Corvettes. Now that's pathetic.

If someone has the money and wants to spend it on a car like that, I don't have a problem with it. More than I would spend though.

a fully loaded 3 LZ with the full areo with Z07 carbon interior and full stripe optional paint in a conv is around 125. so 115 is not overpriced. plus it will be unique.

So curiosity got the best of me and I checked out their web site. $86K for a 2015 coupe. With a $0 "GT Seat Option".

WOW!! I see your point.

I don't see what the big deal is......it's a lot of money but really not if you are in that market........I remember back in 78 when the Pace Car replica came out and people were throwing money around like crazy to buy one of those.......and there were 6000 of them made...... Years later they are not worth a whole lot....... only 500 of this specialty model this time.....wonder what it will be worth 50 years from now......?

Default Yeah rice. Like nearly all the options.

Yeah rice.
Like anyone who would pay extra for a premium tint coat color. Not faster.
Or anyone who ordered 2LZ or 3LZ. Not faster.
Or anyone who ordered exposed clear or carbon fiber roof or a exposed carbon fiber aero. Not faster.
Did you order any of the premium interior options, dual seat colors, stitching, carbon fiber dash? What rice, not faster.
Better not get black, grey or chrome wheels. Not faster.
What is Chevrolet thinking offering all this rice???

Actually, if you spec out a Z06 with the same options and accessories, you are only paying about $3,000 for the stripes, the VIN and the right to say you have a Special Edition. It's really not that much more money assuming you are not paying over MSRP.

The amount of FUD being spread about this special edition car is ridiculous.

Im guessin a few dealers can throw money away just for the draw it will bring in, not necessarily the cost per part to msrp price comparison mindset.. I would understand any dealer wanting this draw... Most people like myself hate going to dealers and wasting time.. This would be worth the time looking at and being haggled by a dealer lol.. I mean its on quite a few posters already...

Also I think some people got their hopes up that when a "C7-R edition was going to be made for 2016 that it was going to be like a Porsche 911 GT3 or other race ready models that some manufactures offer.

They are upset that it is just a "special" options package that technically you can spec out yourself minus a few minor details.

For sure I wouldn't pay a penny over MSRP for one.

Should be faster, not just a sticker edition.

To use the C7R name it should be faster, lighter, more hardcore and track oriented. My problem is with the name, not the package. The Viper gets an ACR and has an extreme aero option, this is a sticker edition with a Vert option. Missed opportunity imo but I'm not gonna **** in anyone's cheerios that likes it, just disappointed. Should of called it something else and saved the C7R moniker for the real deal.

I find reason to enjoy the my lowly 1lz I wanted the comp seats and the carbon mirror's and stinger. Even spending more would have been no issue for me. I just find piece of mind spending 32500 less for the same car.
I do have my clear top and shade from my C7. Added side skirts and GM guards Added the dimming mirror. Reused some ZR1 wheels I had.
Totally happy with my decision. Feel I can drive it.
Some reason the 115,000 would change my daily driving habits.
The sold ZR1 somehow high sticker some how had more worried about the use. This car no. Just me I guess!
