Default Another dealership won't honor pre-supplier thread

I have followed all the threads in relation to the gm supplier changing etc etc. I was informed by dave, rick, ken and everyone including my dealer general manager stated I would be price protected I had a sold order on 7/3/15. long story short I'm museum delivering the car and my dealership has the invoice which clearly appears to be post supplier pricing.

I sent them a great deal of info and some links I had here from some of the forum members. I am waiting on a call tomorrow between me the salesman and general manager.

Anything else I can gain or gather to point them in the right direction to get me some help. Btw this is a big vette dealership in houston.

Update 8-15-15 ok so I went to the dealership and had to take car of some other things and get some stuff lined up.

they pulled a 2016 invoice on a car from 31 days ago. Told me it was the same price...it was the same...MSRP price. I got them to show me my invoice and the 31 day old invoice. And base price is clearly difference for invoice (msrp is the same but we know that's not what changed) so he is waiting to speak to a GM rep on Monday for further. And I did get a picture of both the invoices!

update 8-19-15 Received a call today with a new price, it is now in line with the pre supplier price increase. so hopefully all is well, and the dealership has came through on their end. I never bashed them, ran name through mud or anything. Did i think it took longer than necessary to get it done? yes. BUT regardless it is done and they did what was needed and hopefully the rest of this will be smooth.

Update 9/3/15

Im going to give my final post on this:

I requested in an email, not even knowing if this could happen, if the dealer would send an MSO to a louisiana title company (dealer in texas) so the titling and plate transfer could be done CORRECTLY. We were having issues because I was being charged 200$ for license plate and I wanted to keep my personalized plate, basically in short; I have to pay 200% for new 4 year plate then pay to cancel and pay to activate my personalized (because texas couldn't do it)

This obviously broke the straw over the camels back with the manager and he called me a day before my museum delivery and told me he was declining to sell me the car (I had plane flight, hotel rooms, etc)

I was speechless. He was beyond rude after I requested to speak to the owner, he advised me the owner felt the same way about the situation and it was the dealerships best interest.

I then reached out to the owner on my own because he would not abide by the request. Owner knew NOTHING about this. I ended up paying all the fees for the plate and will have to eat that since they could not resolve that situation. Owner was very nice and helpful to me, but boy has the manager made this whole ordeal a nightmare.

off topic: but I picked the car up yesterday (had ac issues and notated it in PDI at the museum) drove home today (lost all AC) and my car is at a dealership 180 miles from me with a cracked AC line. Major bummer!

Default Another dealership won't honor pre-supplier thread

Good luck, pretty much stinks that you and others have to go through this. My dealer said they will honor supplier pricing pre increase for my pre 17Jul order, though they won't take the extra 750 CU discount on top of that. I thought I read some dealers would take the pre 17Jul supplier with the new CU, but I guess it's up to the dealer.

It's funny because I ordered on 6/23 and had a set price. I called my dealer today and inquired about this price increase and they had no clue what I was talking about. Even called GM and still had no clue. They told me the invoice price we agreed on was set in stone and they would honor the 750 credit union discount. It's weird how some dealers aren't in the loop.

If you really want the car a 6-7% discount off MSRP isn't too bad.

It isn't. But not when I was shown a 9% discount. To some that's an issue. As of now it's showing supplier is 69,980 and msrp is 75,200

Except for the fact according to kerbeck. The dealership is credited the difference when the vehicle is sold. So yeah it is a big deal to me

General Motors and their esteemed Representatives. What a truly inspiring thing it is to deal with the General. You would have better luck dealing with a General from North Korea.

I can understand your frustration but if the dealer won't give you the earlier pricing you really only have 2 options:
Walk or pay their price. You can shop around and find a dealer that will offer the 9-10% discount but then there is the hassle and cost of a courtesy delivery, shipping and travel associated with not buying local. I hope you can work things out.

Added: I just perused two of the large forum dealers who both have lots of cars in stock. Only saw one car that was discounted more than about 6%. Don't know if any of these cars were invoiced before July 17. Clearly, the days of 9-10% off MSRP are over, at least for the time being. Will be interesting if this pricing holds as the year progresses. If demand declines, pricing should follow. Time will tell.

Sorry to hear you are in that situation. If you cant get in writing immediately that they will honor it. I hate to say this.....

WALK AWAY from the deal.

I had a similar deal. I ordered a car.... Did all the pain stacking waiting and when I went to pick it up. The price changed. I walked away. Best Decision Ever. I just found a dealer to honor a price, and now I have my new Z.

Good Luck

Then you also get $750 off. That is about 8% off. Hopefully they will honor the previous price but if not that is still a good deal. Remember to factor in courtesy delivery if you don't order local. If a local dealer is within $500-1k or so of the big ones then I would usually just go local. I don't worry about a few hundred $$ when you are spending $70k.

Another % above 8% is about $750, factor in $500 or so for courtesy delivery. So if you go with a big dealer, you'll wait longer for $250.

I bought local for all of the above reasons.

CHET -

Do you not have a copy of the original WorkBench order from the dealership's pre-7/17 submission, showing the MSRP, Supplier and Dealer Cost prices?

It must have YOUR NAME/ADDRESS and "SOLD Order" visible on that printout, along with the order number. If you do have it, then that should be all the dealer needs to get reimbursed for price protection thru GM - after the car is sold to you at the listed original, agreed-upon price.

I am going through this exact process at a reasonably-small dealership this coming week. As Dave@Kerbeck has stated in other threads, my dealer said that getting reimbursed is NOT complicated - it is commonplace and your sales manager SHOULD easily be able to make this happen for you.

In any case, sorry to hear this is spoiling an otherwise exciting time for you - - good luck.

.

I have the workbench and pre sold information. When I ordered the car pricing was unavailable. So I don't have pricing on my sold workbench order sheet. But my dealer is aware of the price change. And hopefully it will get resolved. He obviously doesn't know the reimbursement process. I think that's pretty clear. And the main problem

OP, if you could please PM me the dealership in Houston. I am local and would also like to know in case this goes south I'll make sure not to do business with them. PM is fine if you don't want to post publicly. Thanks.
