Default 2016 Price Increase

There were some surprises when I took delivery on my 2016 Z51 A8 this week.
The supplier price increased by about $1850 over 2015 supplier price. Chevy increased price to dealers.
There are now just two complimentary oil changes.
The power train warranty is now 60,000 miles, 40,000 miles less.

The good news:
The additional A8 cooler is installed.
The A8 has the latest software and works very well.

Since I purchased/ordered my car, (mid year 2014) there has been three substantial price increases. If I count the mandatory PDR with the navigation option, there have been four. ($3,400 increase, base Stingray)

So it's safe to assume that the 2017 will increase yet again.

According to the govt there have been no price increases on anything (no inflation).

GM knows they have a winner and wants to make more profit. I still think the C7 is a great value for the money.

Are you certain that there are only 2 oil changes thrown in and not 5 for the z51 including the 500 mile one?

My car went up $3400 from January if you include the change in supplier discount.

Window price sticker says "Two maintenance visits oil & filter change 27 point inspection"

They changed it from four to two but I would hope the dealer still does the 500 mile 'mandatory' oil change as a courtesy. My dealer says no more than three months before first oil change (base coupe) and that the first one is on them

Is "the additional A8 cooler" new to 2016's and comes on all of the A8 cars?

From what I've gathered on this forum it's present on Z51 cars only. Which makes a lot of sense since the overheating complaints came from people tracking the car.

It's the same additional transmission cooler that was standard on the 2015 LT4/A8 powertrain...
now made standard on the 2016 LT1/A8 powertrain w/Z51.

Default 2016 Price Increase

Ok so I'm confused by this price increase and my dealer can't tell me the actual price until I get a vin so he says. When I ordered the invoice on a 2015 spec'ed out it was $64188 and then inward told there was a $665 increase for the 16's which theoretically should put me at $64853. So did the invoice actually go up more on the 16's after 7/14 or the supplier price? I really don't want any major surprises when I pick it up and the dealer keeps insisting they can't see the invoice until the VIN is assigned.

Supplier Price/Friends and Family Discount/Credit Union Discount (all are the same one) went up, GM Employee did as well, and of course so did invoice. MSRP was unchanged.

"GM Supplier" is now 93.5% on 1LT Base MSRP (about), 93% on the Z51 package (exactly), and 91% of all other options (exactly) versus MSRP. These used to be 91.5% (about), 91% (exactly) and 88% (exactly) respectively before the invoice markup. 2LT and 3LT are considered OPTIONS and discounted according (so 91%).

So according to some of these threads if you ordered in June then I should still be able to get the 91% (Z51) correct? I asked my dealer about this and they looked at me like I had two heads.

I would think you'd be okay if you ordered in June but it might be when the order goes to status 2000 is what is relevant. Found this blurb from Ken F in a past thread:

-Customer order date must be prior to the date of the price increase.
-GM systems order date (date dealer enters in GM system) must be no more than one work day after date of the price increase.
These units will be invoiced at prices in effect at the date of production; however, the dealer open account will automatically be credited for the price increase once the unit has been delivered.

I'm not really sure what a "GM systems order date" means, but I'd guess if you made it to status 2000 before 7-17 then you're protected. Of course whether the dealer will honor it is another story. They'll get an invoice with the new pricing and are refunded later. They may show you the new invoice and convince you to pay the new price to pad their profit margin, so you may have a little fight on your hands even if your order is technically price protected. These cars are still hot enough that most people will just bend over and pay extra once they see their car in person. Me? I'd get my deposit back and walk.

I will do exactly that. It's been nothing but a fight since day one. They insisted on taking my trade right away which they already sold so I would at least get that money back. I'll walk and get something else.
