Default New 2016 Stingray

So I brought my 08 C6 into service today and traded her in on a 2016 C7 Z51. In my mind I didn't think I could justify the cost between a paid off C6 and a C7. After one drive I really think it was worth the price difference.

Initial impressions so far. Everything feels better built, the doors shut with a thud, the interior is much nicer feeling and I love the technology. Even my lowly 1LT has a ton of bells and whistles. The 16s have apple car play and will be adding andriod auto support later on this year. So happy about that. Also come with a new flat bottom steering wheel that is sublime.

I'm super glad I went with the 8speed auto. One of the reason I never loved my C6 was the auto was pretty laggy even after a transmission tune. It felt clunky and an afterthought. I could of gotten a manual but my wife will be driving this car from time to time. The new 8 speed is amazingly fast shifting. The paddles shifts are quick and firm. There is virtually little to no delay when you click the paddle. My C6 there was always a delay and bugged the crap out of me.

I went with the night race blue, a color I haven't seen on a C7 before or maybe I haven't noticed it. Looks blackish at night and sparkly blue during the day. I really love love love the color and how it changes in the light.
The C6 I traded in was a bright yellow and glad to be in a car that's a little lower key.

My plan 2 weeks ago was to trade in my S2000 and pick up a left over 2015 Mustang GT with performance pack but I'm really glad I went this route instead. I get to keep the S2000 and get a new toy. No regrets!!

1st mod is to remove/cover the chrome braces. What do you all recommend for that? I'd like it to match the rest of the grill.

Congrats on your beautiful Vette! I had similar circumstances about trading in a fully owned C6 but after test driving several C7s, I couldn't resist getting one.

Congrats and an excellent choice of color! There are lots of options to cover the grill piece. Here is one vendors solution:

http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item....l-overlay-kit/

You could use electric tape if you wanted. Enjoy your new ride!

Congrats and enjoy. You can get quality black out tape that matches the grill, or carbon fiber here http://www.vettefx.com/c7-stripes-1.html
Or, just use electrical tape. Works great.

I'd go for the gloss myself. There's nothing like getting a brand new car. Screw depreciation, especially with a fun toy like this.

Thanks! I just ordered the gloss. Next mod LED lights in the trunk and license plate. Strange that they left those non LED. Also thinking about doing a clear bra to try to keep it as nice as possible.

Awesome! You could look into getting Xpel done on the front fascia and mirrors. A lot of people do the rocker panels as well, depends on what your budget is.

I sure did. Rit was my sales rep and he was fantastic to work with. No pressure and was able to come to a fair price on the trade in and the purchase. Very good experience.

Congrats. Since you have a 1LT with no front end cameras, another option is to install a 2015 Z06 grill.

Yup......that's what I did along with the Z06 splitter and ACS Zero 1 side skirts.
