If you get the chance to go, please do it. You'll never forget it!

With the other race that was going on, plus all the added people. The track was at near record capacity. The speeds the "fast" cars were attempting was pushing the safety but that's all part of what makes this place special. There was only one lap of 6 that didn't have a yellow flag due to a caution (accident). The track was being opened and closed all day due to even more serious accidents. All part of the excitement of the Ring. I'll just say again, unless you know the track and the 70+ corners, there isn't much need for too much horsepower. At least not until you get a feel for it. If you are only doing a few laps as I did, it wouldn't have made sense to double the cost of the rental for more HP. Of course this is just my opinion. Your mileage may vary. I think it's well worth a visit to try it for yourself. It was amazing!
Thanks for sharing! I plan to do that also when I take Euro delivery of my new 2016 911 GTS on Oct 30 2015. Not sure I want to drive my new car at the ring with so few miles. I'll probably do what you did. Can you share what you paid for the rental?

Thanks
George

I rented here http://www.rent4ring.de/en/info/rent...dschleife.html. The price is really depending on the type of car. I choose the BMW, the insurance (I picked all-inclusive), the number of laps, and in my case I also had an instructor. It was pricey but for a once in a lifetime experience I feel justified. Have a great time. Make sure the track is open by checking here before you schedule anything http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/drives...dschleife.html.

It's also last year's C7.R from Corvette Racing. They sell them lock and stock to Larbre at the end of every year and throw in engineering support as part of the deal, which means they probably paid Larbre to rent the car they sold to them last winter.

Thanks! Like you, I'm looking forward to the whole experience. Any other attractions you would recommend? We'll be touring Europe for 16 days...

"absolutely beautiful hot weather".

From all the excuses I've heard about no C7 Stingray or Z06 times, I thought it was cold and rained every day in Germany.
