Default Valet Mode

New to the C7 forum. Still have a C3. Picked up my 2016 Z51, 2LT coupe last week. Not used to all these new electronics.
Question; and I HAVE looked at the manual, and not really got an answer; can I get into a valet mode, and if so, HOW? I do not have the PDR option.
Thanks for any input.

You need the Nav/PDR option to use this mode.

No you don't… Every car has a valet mode… It only locks certain things like the the glove box etc. etc. it doesn't reduce the power in any way..

It's not really that different than how you lock say a hotel safe. I think if you don't have the PDR then you just don't get that part but the screen, glove box and the Infotainment stuff still works.

Don't know why that YT tag isn't working. Here's the URL:

I activated Valet mode when I took the car in for its first oil change. I don't have the Nav option. I was subsequently summoned by the tech, who asked me to deactivate Valet mode so he could reset the oil monitor. Live and learn.

Well, my dealer asked for the same thing but I declined. You can reset the oil life yourself and takes less than 10 seconds. It is reset using your screen and your dic settings.

Although, if you trust this dealer that little, why take it to them?

I watched the car from the moment I dropped it off.
In retrospect, Valet mode obviously wasn't necessary, however it was my first experience with the dealer, and I would do it again under the same circumstances.
