Default How long does it take for a tuner to start work after drop-off

How long does it typically take a tuner to start a job like a cam swap or gear-set change after you drop off the car? For example, after dropping off the car, does it sit for two-three weeks before the tuner starts the work. Is this typical or the exception.

A good shop will not ask to you drop off the car until he is going to start the work on the next day. That way car will be cold & not hot for doing any pull down of parts.

Plus for tuner to really do a driveability tune it will take 3 r 4 good days to do so. Almost any one that calls themself a tuner can do a WOT tune on the car. But get get it to drive like a stock car it takes some time & knowing what he is doing.

A good shop should not have you bring the car in before they are ready to start work on it.

We will not schedule our customers to drop the vehicle off until we have conformation that all the parts are either here in the shop or are on the way to the shop. We than call to schedule a drop off date so we can start it the day the vehicle comes in.

Having a car sit for days or even weeks without the parts and having a car dropped off is not very good business practice. Sitting projects are loosing money and are taking up space Imho, Plus you have customers who start to get very disappointed, angry, upset.. its a good way to help loose customers and business.

Op if your having troubles finding a shop give us a call , email or Pm. We are located in Delaware

Sound like a good shop. Also correct on letting a car just set around customer get sick & unhappy with that being done. Plus can take a chance of getting damage also just setting around day after day. Robert

Good shops want repeat customers so they stick to a schedule and openly communicate with you when things get delayed.
