Yeah, that's pricy... You can paint them yourself with G2, Duplicolor, or better yet, have them powder coated.

Powder coat would be best but I did the calipers on my C6 with Duplicolor from Autozone for less than $20.

If you clean them really good & get all the brake dust off this stuff will start on for good..

The issue would be you'll lose the 'Corvette' wording on the caliper when you paint/powder coat them on your own. Maybe these 'decals' are available so you can add them back on, otherwise it will look like something's missing.

no you won't, the decals are on ebay and after you paint, you mist a light coat of clear over the decal to protect. It'll last as long as you own the car.

Can you paint the calipers while they are on the car? As I recall I paid about $350 to have my '05 painted. They removed the calipers and much of the charge was time and labor to do all that.

How much would you think reasonable to have your procedure done? I can't do it with my back trouble.

Boy, I have no idea what someone might charge to do it for you. It took me 3 days. I put the car on jacks and prepped the calipers one afternoon, painted the next morning, and put the decals on day 3 after the 24 hour curing of the epoxy paint. Total work time was less than 4 hours.

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking more on my own experience, but this was back in '05. I think they quoted $150, and I think we all thought they were to be done on the car. The bill ended up something like $650! And they said most of the work was taking the calipers off, dealing with the fluids, etc. Of course I thought that outrageous, and in the end they gave me about half back in needed services.

I had the dealer paint mine on my 2008 and they charged me $200.00 and that also included a small chip repair on the quarter panel. Looked fine for my 5+ years of ownership.

That sounds very reasonable.

Funny thing is I just sent in a deposit for a LB Red 2016 Z51 with black wheels and black calipers. This time around I don't want to see them!

With a similar Z06, black calipers are a $595 add!

Just paint them yourself. I painted mine using Folia Tec caliper paint (epoxy based) about six years ago and the paint still looks like new. Cost was only about $50 total.
