Back Again With More Questions
Unless I'm getting bamboozled by the quota system, I should be picking-up my 2016 Z 51 in the dead of winter around here. Snow is not much of an issue but cold temps are.
I'm learning as I go as much as anything from this forum which has been a real help. Tires are the issue at this point. I'm not into the idea of letting a brand new car sit until summer so I plan to buy some winter tires and then switch over later. This won't be a track car although there's no way to keep from a few illegal quarter mile flings. (Actually pretty safe since I live next to the edge of the world.) The problem is what tires for the cold weather given the description of my driving and the weather. Spent hours on the internet last night and came away more confused than ever. I don't need the ultimate performance tires for cold weather driving but don't want crap either. Should I opt for a run-flat tire? Just how reliable is carrying around a can of flat-fix as I have seen used by some forum members? Any assistance here as to brands an dealers would be appreciated.

When I moved to my aftermarket wheels I got rid of the run flats and use a slime/compressor. I wanted an allaround tire that was not expensive. I use Nitto INVO's. 15k and they still look in good shape. … Well thought of and quiet.... good luck on your journey.

My suggestion:
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3
.
Harbor Freight ~ $24 A very nice small compressor.

I highly recommend the Continental DWS06. It is NOT a runflat but I've been running non runflats for over 20 years and have never been stranded because of a flat tire. If you have cellphone just call for a flatbed. I do carry a can of slime and a small compressor but I've never had to use it. If you feel a runflat is necessary I would also recommend the Michelin AS3 ZP but it is only available in the 18/19 sizes.
