You guys are waaaaaaaaay too into your corvettes... Like some have mentioned, it looks like a 2012 F12. With 2012 F12 headlights and 2012 F12 styling cues which are borrowed from the 2009 458 which the corvette team most likely borrowed for the 2014 corvette.

Wait a minute, it kind of looks like a 2013 F-Type. 2013. Concept came out in 2011.

Out of all the cars that follow this styling cue, the corvette is the latest.

Let's get it right here. The C7 took a chapter from the Italians. The C7 is the first corvette to look one step closer to these Ferrari's and that is paying the corvette a complement.

You guys are too funny, Ferrari doesn't have to copy crap. The F12 came before the C7, and if anything, the C7 copied the 458 in style and especially headlights... the 458 came out in 2010.

So keep telling yourself that your Corvette is better or that Ferrari copied it if it makes you feel better. Lets not be ridiculous though. I'm all about being enthusiastic about my Corvette and everything, but if I could afford a F12 or 458 like I can a Corvette you can believe I'd buy one and never look back.

Besides, I think the new F12 looks more like the new jags than anything else?

As others have said Ferrari didn't "copy" anything from the C7. If there was any copying it was the other way around.

And if anyone really thinks they look the same you need an eye exam.

In pictures, the C7 coupe and F12berlinetta or F12tdf look somewhat alike. In person, even that fades away. Last Saturday there were at least four F12s at my friendly neighborhood Ferrari dealer, which is hardly the first time I've seen F12s in person there, but this time my own C7Z convertible was in the parking lot. They're both front-mid-engine supercars, and that's about all they have in common. No car person would mistake one for the other.

But I sure wouldn't mind a yellow F12tdf for those days when it's too rainy to lower the Z's roof. Currently accepting donations.

If I had the coin, I would take the F12 any day of the week over the C7Z. And I agree with what others have said - the C7Z copies the F12, not the other way around.

That does not take away from the C7 in any way. It's just the F12 came first.

That is one good looking Ferrari.

I don't necessarily believe that anyone copied anyone else. This is not just with sports cars but didn't you even notice how over time, within a particular market segment, cars from different brands reach a sort of "convergence".

Just the other day on the way home I saw a new Hyundai Santa Fe and then right after that a new Ford Edge. In previous generations these two looked very different (at least to me) but now they are nearly the same - or at least look so when passing them on the highway. The Ford Escape used to look more boxy and traditional SUV like, but when they came out with their new version in 2013, from certain angles, if you took the brand badges off, it was almost indistinguishable from a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV 4. Not to pick on Ford too much because its kind of that way across the board.

Look at the pictures of the 2016 Cruze and the VW Jetta and the Chrysler 200. Sure, there are plenty of differences. But they all have the same general shape and re probably as close to each other in appearance as the Ferrari and the C7. The same thing always happens. One manufacturer will break out of the mold but then over time you get convergence again. Did the others copy whoever was the "break out"? Possibly. Or it could be that they all have market analysts who reach the same conclusions about what people will buy.

PS: Also don't forget that the similarities are pretty much limited to the body work. V8 Vs V12 for example. The supercharged C7 still has less power (but more torque) than the normally aspirated F12. Dual clutch 7 speed auto vs M7 or A8 on Corvette - you get the idea. The similarities are pretty much skin deep.

Now that's a nice ride! Definitely didn't copy from the Corvette, but agree it's the other way around. Simply a progression of the F12.

IMO the F12 is a little "cleaner" than the C7. I'm not into GM's edgy styling as of late. I don't care for the F12 rear end styling. To me it's worse than the C7 which I don't really like either. But put either in my driveway and they wouldn't be "lawn art"
