Granny made my night!
So, I gave my wife's freind's mother a ride today. She has wanted to go for a while. Her husband died early in the year and she comes in town to help with the kids. I picked her up and took her for a spirited drive. She kept saying awesome awesome awesome this is a awesome. She is 83 and it turns out that she owned it for three weeks when she graduated college way back when. She had to get rid of it as she couldn't afford on a school teachers salary. I stopped and asked if she knew how to drive stick, she said yes I said would you like to drive? She said oh my god are you serious. We drove on for another ten minutes. When we got back to my wife's friends home she was grinning from ear to ear and couldn't be more thankful. To be honest I enjoyed it as much as she did. Don't be surprise if you see granny in a new stingray in the next month or so .

What a guy, you made her feel like she was 20 year old again.

Good for you... that is a great story and selfless act of kindness. The world needs more of that.

My first flight after getting checked out in a Cessna 182 was with the owner's 80yo sister, who had never been in a plane before. I gave her an evening-into-night aerial tour of Charleston, SC, which she thoroughly enjoyed. People that age who are mentally sharp and adventurous are a lot of fun.
I didn't let her land the plane, though.
