Default Wheel lug nut torque spec?

What is the correct wheel lug nut torque (lb•ft)? I believe I read on this forum its 100 ft lb but the 2016 owner's manual says 65~79 ft lb.

model year = 2016

I'm not sure what manual that is but page 312 of the Corvette manual has it at 100.

It's from my 2016 Corvette owner's manual, page 486 (8-5).

Don't know where you got that info from but this is a pic made from page 312 in the 2016 Owner's Manual. It's the same 100 ft-lbs for the 2014 and was for my '08 C6 as well!
PS: My copy of the 2016 Owner's Manual only goes to page 349!

From 2016 Owner's Manual. My 2014 is the same as was my C6.

Hmm I got ripped off. My manuals only 350 pages. I guess they left out the third passenger, compact spare and tire mobility kit info from mine.

Must be past my bedtime! Thought I opened my iBook copy of the 2016 C7 manual, but I actually opened my 2015 Optima manual

Egg on my face...

Write up from your manual is not even your wheel sizes.

Base Front P245/40/R18 Rear P285/35/R19

Z51 Front 245/35/R19 Rear P285/30/R20

Z06 Front P285/30/ZR19 Rear P235/25/ZR20

Chart does not belong to a Corvette..........

I watched my dealers tech torque mine to 100 ft-lbs, as the book says.

Difficult to believe how misinformed some people are. The page you copied and pasted is not even for a Corvette yet you are posting it as fact in a Corvette forum dealing with the 7th generation Corvette.

At least the OP attempted to read the owner's manual which is more than many people do.

That manual cannot be for a Stingray....
Note it has pressures for a spare tire, and shows normal pressure to be 34 psi instead of 30.

Throw away those nitpicky owner's manuals.

Tighten 'til it strips. Back off half a turn.

I have a PDF of the 2016 manual, and it only has 349 pages and no section numbers (e.g. 8-5). ???? In my 2015 manual, wheel torque is specified in section 12-2.

Now that I look again, those aren't Corvette tire sizes, either. Not sure what manual you're looking at, but it's not a C7 Corvette.

As others have said, page 312 if nt 2016 manual says 100 lb ft.

That's not true. The C7 is the first car I've owned with lug not torque specs this high. Maybe 100 ft lb is standard for GM cars, but certainly not every car.

Glad I check my lug nuts, ALL were below 85 lb ft! Now all are torqued to 100 lb ft
