Default NAV Screen....

Well, the dreaded NAV screen flickering occurred on my 2014 C7 3LT yesterday at the 8,900 mile mark. I was going to wait until January to get my 4th free oil change but I guess I'll bring it in next week and get the screen fixed/replaced, oil change and do the roof pin replacement for the noisy roof panel. All in all, this has been a very reliable car and I am very happy with it.

My car was made in the first month of production and the Nav screen has been my only warranty item.

Well, the dealer flashed the wrong software the 1st time I brought it in. No launch control on my Z51 with Mag ride coupe. They were apparently confused and reflashed the computer thinking it was Non-Z51 and Non-Mag ride, so the Performance Traction Management option didn't come up in Track mode. Eventually they figured it out.

I'm on my 2nd nav unit. First one flickered, and 2nd one had a line across top. Local shop rebuilds them. They are refurbished units.

I go in Friday for top install for roof snap, crackle pop,

When it was flickering they did a firmware update. It didn't work.

Mine flickered a few times when it was pretty cold outside.Nothing in a month or two now though. Is there a bulletin # on this??I took a video but of course dealer won't do squat unless they see it for themselves in the car.

That's why I took a video of it as it occurred.

OP - hope the dealer gets the nav screen and the roof noise fixed in one visit and you won't have any more problems.

Mine started doing it at around 25K miles. It was replaced about 2 weeks ago (VIN 11822)

(on the bright side, heading out in a few to have my silver wheels swapped out for machine faced black ones )

Interesting....and good to know....since my VIN is 12,206....only 384 cars after your's.

Any issues with the replacement work? Do they have to rip apart the entire center stack to replace it?

So far so good and my understanding is center stack did have to be disassembled. Then again, I've done that myself it ain't no big deal actually.

Default Update...

I brought my C7 into my local dealer in Chandler, AZ (I bought the car at Kerbeck) and told them about the NAV screen flickering and the roof creaking noises. My service advisor, who I've worked with for 8+ years, said, "yep, we'll need to order a new one." He said I'll call you when it's in stock, along with the roof parts, and we'll schedule a day to install everything.

I mentioned the software flash, and the apparent failure to fix the problem and he told me they don't even try it. They replace the unit without asking.

So early next week I'll have the NAV/Radio replaced, roof pins replaced and my 4th an final oil change (8,900 miles) completed. My car will be 2 years on on 1/21/16. I was going to wait until then but I figured I'd get it done now. My oil life is currently at 51%. Once again, no questions asked and they use Mobil1 free of charge.

PS...while I was waiting, a guy came by and was admiring my car. He then said "you have a beautiful car" while his white Z06 was sitting there. I asked him how he liked the Z and he said it's his favorite of the 20 Corvettes he has owned over the years. He's not a forum member though.

I'll post an update once all the work is complete.

My Nav screen went blank on my 2015 C7 just before Thanksgiving vacation. Took it in this past Monday and received a call today thatGM has instructed the dealer to order replacement parts.

Mine was a loose connection, they fixed it of course, hasn't flickered since. WOA, check the passenger side airbag on/off indicator as well as the hazard lights before you leave the dealership, they disconnected mine for whatever reason, I haven't had the chance to get them to fix it yet.

Fortunately all these cars are still under the warranty at this point.

The Nav screen in my 2014 locked up on me once when the car was a few months old. Problem went away when I restarted the car and has not returned. I have owned my C7 for over 18 months, have put about 12,500.00 on her. Except for a noisy convertible top (told the "clicking sounds" are normal) and this one time Nav issue, the car has been flawless. I would definitely buy again...

This is the reason I am not ordering my vette with navigation, heard to much bad stiff on them. I use a garman. I don't understand GM, if Garman and others can build a hand held GPS that works why can't GM, this technology has been out for yrs. Go figure

I hear what you're saying but isn't the screen in a non NAV C7 the same as the NAV version? It's not the NAV that's a problem, it's the screen electronics and/or circuitry....I think...

Default Parts in stock already...

An hour after I left the dealer yesterday they called to say the NAV screen and roof parts had already been delivered. Seems they had them in stock somewhere in Phoenix. I scheduled the work for next Tuesday at 9 AM. Since I'm walking around on a broken leg (see my other post in OT), the courtesy van will take me home at 9:30. Hopefully everything goes according to plan.

I hate GM navigation. Totally worthless as far as I am concerned.
