Default Courtesy delivery screw up?

Anyone have problems with a courtesy delivery?

Mine from MacMulkin seemed to be going well, car arrived Wednesday at my local dealer in AZ, but no paperwork. Then the paperwork arrives today, Friday. I go over to the dealer and the paperwork is incomplete. So still no joy.

More calls to NH, maybe next week.

Very frustrating seeing my cleaned and prepped car sitting there...

Some first world problem, eh?

Definitely a first world problem.

Surprised MacMulkin would mess up. They've done those hundreds of times.

Sorry you have to wait but you'll still enjoy it.

Even if it takes a week and a bunch of phone calls, this is the small price you chose to pay to beat your local dealer's price and/or allocation.

Ordered mine from MacMulkin. It arrived Tuesday. Same problem. Thanksgiving week may not be the best time for a delivery. Hopefully, I'll
be able to do more than just look at it next week.

Interesting. Macmulkin sent me the paperwork and I did everything including title and reg myself. Pretty easy. All the dealer did was prep the car for delivery and hand me the key fob. I already had paid for the car at the time of delivery though...

So the explanation seems to be - I wired the money Weds, but with the holiday they didn't get the money until Fri, today. They had already sent me my packet of materials, minus the MSO statement since they didn't yet have cash in hand. So the delay. I would have appreciated more explanation from the start. Apparently a fax of the MSO was not suitable to proceed with the registration.

Se la vie! ...grumble,grumble...

Just keep thinking about all the money you saved, you will feel better. The wait will make you appreciate the car all the more.

Seems like holidays always puts a crimp in business dealings. Hope you get to pick up the car early next week.

Couldn't you have just taken the car on the temp plate they give you?

Not sure why the dealer would hold it, they dont have a financial interest in the car at all except the fee they charge to prep it, at least I dont think they do. Unless AZ wont let the dealer give it to you unless the taxes are paid and its registered.

Agree. We shopped price, and price alone. There were multiple screw ups, but not enough to keep me from buying from the same dealer again. We wouldn't use the same courtesy dealer again, but that's a different animal.

The worst part was the waiting, like Christmas for a five year old.

OP probably didn't have that yet if he waited to inpsect the car before payment. I didn't get the MSO and the temp plate sent until my check cleared. I paid up front , so I was ready to go once the car was done being prepped. Of course paying up front is a whole different debate, but it saves you from waiting when it arrives.

I guess no temp plate without the original MSO. I could have absconded with my car and driven it home illegally. At least it would be here to fawn over and set up all my settings and such.

I paid before I saw the car, but the holiday delayed the wire transfer. I wired the money Weds AM and no one at either end told me that the money wouldn't be at the dealer until Fri.

I got a NH temp plate and no MSO from them when I first received the car, they had to wait for my check to clear. Truck was there so they shipped it without the MSO, when everything cleared they sent the MSO.

I had no problem putting the temp plate and my insurance on it and driving it when it arrived.
