Do you guys remember the anticipation of the C-7 unveiling 3 years ago?
Fun times, and a lot of speculation and buzz leading up to the day

After many years of being without a Vette, I had just purchased a used C5 less than a year before the C7 was unveiled. I thought the C7 was beautiful.
Later someone at the site where I was consulting gave me a folder of a gray C7, asking what I thought. I pinned it up on my office wall with a typed slogan underneath it where I wrote: "WHY I WORK".
Oh yeah, I remember that time.

I already had a deposit down on mine and watched the unveiling online with my wife. I admit the taillights were a bit of a surprise and had to grow on me, but never looked back on my decision. I was leaning towards red and the intro clinched that decision for me. It wasn't until late April/early May that the final specs were out and orders could be placed. My dealer had a good allocation so I was able to get the 307th one off the line. It was one of the 'Nashville' cars so I didn't take delivery until early October. I've been fortunate to order early VIN C4, C5, & C6's as well. Definitely a fun time-can't wait to do it again for the C8...

I had a 2000 C5 and sold it in 2005 a couple of years after my wife and I got married. As with a new house and other vehicles needing replacement I thought it made the most sense to trade it in on more practical transportation. I did say at that time, another Corvette would be in the future if all went to plan. Fast forward to 1-13-13 I remember it like it was yesterday. I had anticipated the unveil as everyone else, like I was twelve years old awaiting Christmas...only better. I had the webcast going and thought at first it was a prototype or show car and quickly realized it wasn't, that it was THE car. I took the laptop and showed my wife, she asked if that was the actual car and when I told her it was she immediately said 'We should get one'. That was a great day.
Then a few weeks later and we went to the Chicago Auto Show and saw it in person...and then went back a couple of days later to see it again. Awesome.

Yes, I remember the unveiling 3 years ago. I thought right then at the C7 was a beautyiful car. I had my C5 then and still have it. Would like to get a C7, but will probably wait a couple of years and try to find one that has been gently used at a significantly reduced price.

About when I put money down to get in line for mine! Rick Hendrick in Cary NC was one of the few (with a very good allocation volume) to start an order list! I was #9 and they held to the promise! They provided a written price guarantee when there was no price available. Great doing business with them!

Come on guys, not every current C7 owner saw love at first sight. Maybe it was the color combination but I was underwhelmed and ragged on it for a few months after the unveiling...then bought two of them!

When I first saw them on the road, I was convinced it would be my "retirement car". Still working and have now 8,000 miles since May '15 on my convertible. Love it. Retirement is now only a few months away.

I remember looking at the mules trying to invision what was hiding under the tarp. Later discussing areas that showed of actual pre production tarped painted vehicles. It was so much fun I purchased one mid 2014 model production. First car I never drove prior to ordering, I wasn't disappointed!

I remember seeing the pics of it and thinking, WOW.
It took a while for it to grow on me, but I knew I would own one, later than sooner as it turned out.

My first.
I fell in love with Corvettes as a starving college student when I wrangled a test drive in a white/red interior '63 fastback 4 speed manual from a used car lot.. No way I could afford it, but the salesman played along... Sorta fell out of love when the size and weight increased and the HP decreased, and spent the next decades driving Honda Accords, Preludes, an Acura CL and returned to high performance with an '11 Mustang GT. Looking to replace the Mustang late in '17, Ford priced themselves out of a sale when the car I spec'd was north of FIFTY GRAND! For a Mustang?! I think not. When I discovered I could get the 'vette I wanted off the lot for a couple of grand more, it was like falling in love all over again. At a bargain price...

What is this propensity reviving really really old threads

No. Don't recall any anticipation. The C4/5/6, had put a damper on anything much different to get too excited about from GM.
