Default Exhausted with this!

Drove several 2014 C7s and was able through engine management to keep the exhaust at its loudest regardless of driving mode. Went to the dealer yesterday and drove a manual 2016. Put it in sport mode and that had a disappointingly quiet exhaust note. Engine management no longer has the same options. You have to just pick a mode or stealth. Am I not understanding something here? I want maximum loud like the npp on my 2014 2SS Camaro. Now the new Camaro seems to have same exhaust scenario as vette though they call it dual mode/npp on both. Someone please exp!ain if the new C7 is different so far as exhaust sound. Thanks!

Track (in engine sound management) is the same as Off was on the 2014. And neither keep the exhaust at it's loudest all the time. Both will command the valves to close in certain gears at speed below about 36-37 mph in order to pass federal sound tests.

Alternately, you can pull the NPP fuse (#42 under the hood) to force the valves open 100% of the time.

Pull the fuse and you will have the sound you want. That is what I did and love it.

When you go into Engine Management Put check in Track and it will be on all the time no matter if you are in Economy, Weather, Tour, Sport, or Track. That confused me too. Don't have that "off" and "on" option in the 2016.

The valves will still close at certain speeds if you use the computer to open them.

Pull the fuse, mine are open all the time just like my c6's were, just the way I like it.

Doesn't the sound only change with the performance exhaust? NPP?

I had a devise in my Z06 that you could push a remote and the valves would say open, I have one called exhustmeister in my BMW that I programmed to the universal remote that does the same thing. Does anyone make something for the C7 that does this?

Yep, on my C6 with NPP installed a simple $10 switch so I could control when it was open or closed. Need to control, for example on the highway or you have an irritating drone! Even Janis Joplin singing "cry baby" can't cover it up!
Not so easy on the C7 since it is electrically controlled with motors not simple vacuum actuators as employed on the C6. It can be done and folks have posted how. Suggest you search the forum.

Is the '16 NPP the same set up? Can I pull fuse 42 to keep the valves open?

Yes, if you have NPP.

Do that and then go for a 10 hr drive at highway speeds. I kind of want to know how bad your ears ring ........... I haven't the desire to try it.

OP , is it possible that the '16 you drove did not have the NPP option? That would make it quite, kind of like a Buick.
