I can't remember where I bought the cloth yellow dye pen for stitching. Does anyone know where I can get a fine tipped permanent velocity yellow marker?

I did in fact use that info to dye my stitching, very helpful. It was the two different shades that I remember having to buy several before finding the one that matched. I'm trying to find a permanent marker for outside use.Thx for referral

I think he's trying to color the Corvette lettering on his wheels. I'll be interested to see the results.

If you have a Hobby Lobby store near you, check with them. I bought a fabric pen in blue from them that matched the blue threads on my C5 logos that were done by Vette Essentials. I think the pen is called Stained by Sharpie.

it all depends how **** you are. you can let the pen touch each stitch and let thread wick the dye, which would take a loooong time, but would yield the best results. I however do not possess that kind of temperament, so I had a damp, very slightly damp towel and dyed about 4 to 6 inches, then would wipe the excess that got onto leather. you can tell when it does because it will appear greenish. start in a place not seen easily. you'll find your timing sweet spot in no time. It took me about an hour, I keep pen in car and if I'm waiting on wife shopping or whatever, i'll take pen out and go over it again, so far it's held up pretty well. definitely makes dash pop. hope this helps.

That looks sharp. I'm kinda out of luck because I have machine faced wheels and a Long Beach Red car. So painting LBR on black isn't worth the effort, it just doesn't show that well. Yellow looks really good.

Also, this is kinda off subject but I bought non directional tires. (I know, we can argue about that another time.lol) but should I cross them when I put them back on?. My thoughts are, once a tire has been driven on for some time ie: heated/cooled back down etc. That the molecular structure has been set in a certain order and that driving it in so that it now spins the opposite way would "mess up tire"....advice?

Ok, job done. Took about 1.5 hours. Got 2 markers from here:

The steering wheel is a little challenge but starting up turning it and stopping it made it doable.

The front of the A8 shift boot required putting the shifter in N and then shutting off engine and finally putting the shifter in M to get the best access.

Wipe at least every 5 inches and I found the fine tip on one end got bigger after doing a few items and I used it anyway to finish the whole job with one marker and some to spare. The color on this marker is an exact velocity yellow match when I layed a scrap stained cloth on a fender.

I am leaving the pen and wipe cloth in the cubby to touch up as needed.

Bottom line: I REALLY like the way it turned out and it would have cost me $395 to have it done on a build and I got a great appearance mod for only $5 in marker cost and 90 minutes of my time.
