Got my new Z-51- How to remove dealer logo
It only looks a month to get it delivered but I have got it. In California the dealers do not put their logos on the rear of the cars they sell. How do I remove this from my car without screwing up the paint?
O, by the way I drove my car around the block and it handles like my Porsche’s I am really impressed.
Also Passport Transport was a great-enclosed Trucker. I knew just where my car was all the time and the price for 1,400 miles was $1,476. Gateway Transport was $1,800. I will use these guys again.
Thanks Bob Burton

That's a sharp looking ride, congrats!

After heating it with the hair dryer, I used fishing line to get it off. Any leftover glue, I used Goo Gone, then rubbing alcohol. A little wax to protect the area and you're good to go.

Heat it up and use good, strong dental floss. Or, if you prefer, go to the dealer and tell him to remove his stupid advertising from the back of your sharp looking new set of wheels.

Congrats and enjoy your beautiful TR Vette!
I've never understood why car dealerships feel that they have the right to stick or screw on their logos on sold vehicles; license plate frames are the only acceptable dealer advertisement since they are easily replaced by the vehicle owner. After all, it's your car, not theirs!

If you use the fishing line or dental floss method, you may very well end up w/ some marks on the paint. Not a huge deal as they can be polished out but when I took off my chrome badges and put on the carbon flash I used that method w/ Goo Gone and it left some marks from the line moving back and forth. They buffed out but just be careful. I would spray Goo Gone behind it, let it soak and then lift off a corner and peel from there, not sure you need to use the fish line on that.

Thanks guys,
The dealer I bought it from is 1,400 miles away. I will try the fishing line or dental floss and then take my time with the gooe be gone or WD40. It just has to be a solvent that is not that hot as to screw up the paint.
My local Chevy dealer is 2 miles from my house. Bunnin. I went to High School with Bunin’s son and we where on the wrestling teem together. Lance took over the dealership from his dad and now it is his. 1968 was a long time ago.
Funny I went into the dealer and the salesman said he could go $1,000 off of MSRP.
What was he smoking?
I found what I wanted on line. LT3 Kalahari / Torch red Mag ride Z51 Carbon Fiber top and Chrome wheels.

Just heat it up a little and it'll pull right off, if you don't know what you're doing you can scratch the paint while unnessarily sawing with the fishing line, and that method will 100% guaranteed leave a ton of foam tape to dig off. A hair drayer on it for about 10 seconds and it'll pull right off, probably taking most of the adhesive with it.
No big deal.

Wow Bob, I'm surprised they even put that thing off. It will come off easy....no worries.

If you re warm again much of the drek will roll up under your thumb with a bit of rubbing. 10 more minutes and you are done. (gently)

Guess I've been lucky never had a dealer put their decals or stickers on my Camaro's or vettes

Yes, all of these suggestions will work - heat, goo be gone, etc. ...back in the day (60's) the a##hole dealers would hammer a piece of metal with their logo into the trunk lid so that even if you removed it you would have two holes in your trunk! Barbarians!
