Why so many C7's with very low mileage for sale?

I'll dispute that one. C7s are trouble prone? Says who? A troll? I'm on Corvette sites every day and can't say I've seen anything more than a few problems reported by C7 owners. All new cars can have issues/problems. I've been fortunate enough to own 7 Corvettes and have never had a single problem with any of them and my first was a used '84.

I have been searching for a used or CPO Z51 3LT for about 6 weeks now. I have done a lot of research on a multitude of sties and have come to the conclusion that there a a ton of low mileage cars for sale- some of them with multiple owners and under 10 k miles. Personally, I do not keep cars for a very long period of time. I average a year of so before I am ready for something different (like now). For those of you who are/or are not using your cars as daily drivers, can you offer any insight into this. I just want to make sure before my next purchase that I am not missing anything. Thanks.

I think it is typical of all Corvettes. I experienced the same thing when I was looking for a C6. I ended up with a '16 Z51 M7 coupe and I am very happy, about 5k miles in 3 months.

I use mine for a daily driver, just dont have a lot of places to go lol. I'm semi-retired and have two other cars, but I drive the C7 the most (as long as no snow or salt), I'll put about 5000 miles a year on it, my other 2 cars will see maybe 2500 a year.
Looking at Criswell when he posts pics of new owners it appears most are older people buying a C7 as a 'toy' rather then a family truckster.
Dealers love me when I trade them in after a year or two

Pretty typical of any relatively expensive sportscar. Most do not get driven in the Winter by owners in Northeast or other snow belt areas. Others buy as a second or 3rd car for use on weekends or nice day cruises.
Has been like this forever.

This subject just came up about a week or so ago. There are a number of reasons why there are low mileage used C7s on the market, problems with the car seems to be one of the lowest reasons. One of the computer print outs you should obtain is the warranty work that was performed on the car. That will tell you if it's had problems in the past. When I bought my used C7 last month the car had been back to the dealer for an oil change and a minor recall item (the fuel nozzle funnel). Not bad after 4K miles. I had looked at others with similar results. Some of these cars are toys that someone just didn't want anymore. A fare number are trade-ins for a Z06. If the car has a clean Carfax and you check the warranty work performed and there isn't any, I wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of buying a used, low mileage C7.

There's also the fact that some folks buy a Corvette and after realizing that they're not a Buick or Camry, they trade it in. I remember seeing a brand new ZO6 with 38 miles on it. I asked the dealer why? He said the guy drove it home and back. It scared him. But on the other hand, some lucky dude got a great buy on a brand new Z.

Not uncommon at all. A lot of guys "trade up" and want the newest model with the changes out. Some wanted the ZO6. Like others have already said, it was a toy and once it lost its "freshness" I(in their mind) they traded it in. I have an 01ZO6 I bought in 2007 at age 22 and I just turned 31 5 days ago. This August will mark the 9 year mark that I have owned her. When I bought the car, Carfax showed 7 other owners before me, one of which had it less than a month, and the car only had 44k on her. I too was worried about this but after a quick search and just being the nature of the car, its quite normal.

For my multi-testicled buddy:
it's because of garage queens with too much money.
Thanks folks, I'll be here all week, tip your waitress.
But, I'm going to go way out on a limb here and take two guesses that I'll put money on:
1) Rich car lovers (or almost rich) that simply want to drive it for a year or so and then trade the remaining value for something else fun. Hell, I'm already thinking about a Z06 and I only have 5000 miles on my stingray. I'm not even close to being rich, I'm just irresponsible and hitting a hard mid-life crisis (solved with hookers, cars and drugs, I'm not interested in the drugs)
2) Broke car lovers; you know "holy chit, my payment is so much" then something happens, like they can no longer avoid paying the gas bill, so they sell their vette. I know an idiot that bought a Jaguar F type, then took a job offer here in CA, and, as you can guess, had to dump the Jag.

I purchased a 2014 C7 2LT...LOVED IT SO MUCH...with 4200 miles...I traded it in for a 2015 C7 Z51...Now waiting for a 2017...and will trade up again...I think typical reasons that the car is so great...owners are find ing that they want "bigger and better" and trading in their low mileage Vettes.

Simple, because guys buy them and sit on chat forums all day talking about them instead of driving them.

Advanced
Because the average person does not buy it for a daily driver. I am not saying there is anything wrong if someone does use it as a daily driver. I have a 1999 with less than 53k original miles. I do not expect to put many on my 2015. It's my weekend car.

there's a lot of people just like you---folks that actually buy a vehicle(any vehicle) and enjoy for a few months then trade for something different -- OR -- folks that just enjoy stirring up controversy and argument on an enthusiasts(any vehicle) website/forum.
