What's with muscle cars revving their engine and driving aggressively around my C7?

Its always old and new mustangs, camaros and souped up hondas civics etc and lately from time to time when I'm outside cleaning my C7 this guy in a mustang cobra really lets his exhaust scream as he passes my house. To be clear, I never instigate anything..I'm too old for that behavior. Should I take this a as a compliment or do they feel threatened and are simply puffing up their chest? If they only knew..i mean no harm

You're 'too old'?
Hmmm...I'm (cough, cough) uh, er, 72 and recently enjoyed devastating a 20-something driver in a rolling drag who was simply 'begging for it' on a rural, traffic-free road in his new Mustang GT. I've repeatedly tried to grow up...to no avail.

My experience with Camaro's, high performance Camaro's, more mutual respect. Shared a few thumbs up.
My stop light challenges usually come from young people in an SUV, and guys in pickups. I don't play, but always curious why they want to race?

Sometimes, they don't want to race, they just want to see the corvette blast off when the light changes.

For some enthusiasts a blip of the throttle can be a salute to another enthusiast. I'm OK with that.
On another level, it is a behavior that has been exhibited by the male of most species since the beginning of time.
Just beware of those Honda Civics. Some of them are pushing over 30 # of boost on drag radials on the street, and can embarrass you to tears.
Happened to me more than once.

When challenged side by side at a stop light give them the look...shoot a couple revs and when the light turns green just sit there. Always fun to watch them launch/

I see it as a compliment. They're either saying, "I see you're a car guy too" or "Hey, here's another car guy near you". At least that's what I think when I'm in the driveway or at a car wash (as in doing it myself, not running through a machine).
Now on the street, when they're clearly lesser cars, I don't get it. I mean, why would I even bother to launch/race against a 4 cylinder Honda? I already know what the outcome will be, and so do they. Of course there's the rare occasion that it's some super up monster, but at the end of they day, you've got more to lose than they do. You could get a ticket or wreck...neither is worth it. Racing is for the track. Period.
...but sometimes, you just can't help yourself. Punch it and watch them in the rear view mirror.

Talk about a whupping. He pulled into the next gas station and we ********ted about cars for a good 20 minutes. He had a lot of $$ in that thing, but it was damn quick.

Recently I was driving my Vette and had a guy next to me revving his "engine", I turned to see what kind of car, a Prius. That was a first.
