I was ahead on that trend by many years. I owned a triple white 88 35th Anniversary Edition Corvette back in the day. All of them came equipped with white wheels, white seats, and the exteriors were all painted white. I am leading a new trend now toward the sleek look of chrome.

The good thing about the black wheels is that anyone with 3 bucks can buy a can of Krylon and mod their wheels. One of the security guards at work has a really cool looking 90 something Chevy Trailblazer in which he did the black Krylon mod. After the over spray on the tires started to fade it rally looked cool.

All the stats I've seen indicate that with the below 30 years of age crowd, chrome would be on the way out before black rims.
