Default Tires that hook for Z51

My Z51 stock run flats are near end of life so will be getting some new tires soon. Looking for some tires that will fit my stock 19/20 rims that will hook better than the stock run flats. Anything better than the Michelins, they have been pretty good to me? Will a wider rear tire help that much? How wide of a tire will fit on the stock rim?

I also will be dropping my car on stock bolts so rubbing might be an issue if too wide.

My Z51 is not a DD, just for weekends.

Good luck, the stock tires on the Z51 seem to be the best out there among street legal tires. Perhaps there are some pure racing tires out there that might be slightly better but would mean trailering the car to a track. Don

Toyo R888s are very sticky, but will wear very quickly. They're really designed for autocrossing.

At stock power levels, the Super Sports were amazing. Don't know what else you could expect from them. Sport Cup 2's or R888's will hook better, but wear out way faster.

I went to 18's and 19's with Bridgestone Re71R's and they have outstanding lateral and longitudinal grip.

R888s are looking pretty good. Man those tires look like they melt when they get warm. How many miles are the r888 rated for? I have seen some guys get near 20k miles.

@ Robert Miller. Did you say the r888 hook nearly the same as the Mich run flats?

When mine wear out, I will be buying Pilot Super Sport NON-run flats. Have them on my other 3 cars. An earlier set on one of them went 30K!
