Well, I'm assuming they're working on that issue and that's why production on the 2017 Z06 isn't starting until September when regular C7 production begins in June. If the cooling issue is sorted out then maybe the rumored 700hp will become a reality.

Dang... just saw these pics. Gotta admit, makes me kinda sad that GM decided to put that stupid looking car logo on the competition seats.... They were perfect before, why ruin them.
Design of side vents... Too busy and the words on it... just ew. And as if the that wasn't bad enough, now they decide to screw with the wheels as well.
I've always wanted the wide body look and bottom vents... too bad I have to settle with a normal z51 now

I hope you're correct. These more in the LT4, I would still hope to lose the DOD. It's unnecessary in that car and only limits the cam options and opens the valvetrain to potential problems.

Gas HP Bump
Wouldn't a bump in GS HP kill Stingray sales?
#506
Only in the sense that a z51 would kill a base stringray. There will always be those who just want a corvette to cruise around and don't care for the extra hp or those who can't afford to pay for the slight upgrade.
It might slightly affect z51 sales, but at the current exterior/interior design. I'd still say that Z51 > GS in terms of aesthetics.

Yeah, what's with the car logo on the seats? I would hope that's not mandatory, because it's a deal breaker Imo. The bright blue I can also do without but that I'm sure can be changed to whatever you want. It is too bad they didn't mess with the engine just a bit to make it different. It's now gonna be impossible to tell the difference between these and the Z's without a very close look.

Exactly. If an aftermarket seat cover company would have introduced it, there would have been a negative backlash. However since GM introduces it, it must be OK right?

I think most all saw this coming. This one however is even closer to the Z06 in looks than the C6 GS was, in the fact that those gills were readily apparent at a quick glance. You are going to have to look really close to tell the difference on this one, which kind of takes all the visual hype away from the big dog and muddles it up once again. I was ticked off when they did this with the C6 right after I bought my Z, but figured this one was coming. No doubt you will see a ton of them on the street and I bet it once again hurts Z06 sales.

GM copied the exact same recipe they did with the C6 GS and it would've been stupid for them to deviate from it. The C6 version was a home run and really kept the C6 alive during those last few years of the run. Probably didn't cost them much out of pocket either.

"Everyone" wants a NA track beast? Really? The vast majority of Vette owners of any generation, including C7 owners, will never track their car. Ever. GM knows that, and it's the demographic they design cars to sell to, not track rats.

Anyone find pics of the new grey vs. cyber grey? Looks very close.

I guess this is the new gray to replace tiger shark gray "GM will offer a Grand Sport Collector Edition featuring an exclusive Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior". I'm looking forward to see it in the sun.

When they make one in DSOM & Brownstone I will order. Till them my 15 3LT Z51 Coupe-MRC-chrome wheels will suit me fine. Like the looks but no HP bump up is disappointing. Also my 15 listed for 76K. Wonder how much extra a GS can support without REALLY hurting ZO6 sales.

That's the C7 I would buy. Looks and tech of the Z06 without the puny blower. Slap a ProCharger on it and call it a day.
