All you have to do is get yourself appointed head fred of the EPA and rescind the tailpipe emissions limits (or roll them back), and Tadge would be happy to oblige with the cam, tune etc.
Absent that - aftermarket.

Safety Car
The red, white and blue one sucks! And those hash marks just don't look right. Split part way then solid at the top, and they only go over the bend on top and not to the hood. Over all, I like the car, but wouldn't want the hash marks.

As has been mentioned, if you don't order the CFZ or CFV option on the GS you get molded skirts and splitter. The skirts are still painted CF but not the splitter. Also the spoiler is different. I was walked around this car by Jeff Strausser, brand quality manager. He could not be nicer. He even called Harlan Charles to get an answer to one of my questions.

Harlan gave the official GS starting price as $65,450. Option pricing releases on May 13th but all of the options are basically the same price as they were previously.
Heritage package is $795 and includes the hash marks. Red belts are $395 (wow). Orders start next week. Expect first cars at dealers late July or early August.

Platinum Supporting Dealership
My guess is that the Grand Sport will be constrained due to part availability since they have to share with Z06. If I have to order 150 cars one week and they tell me I can only have 45 GSs, I'm not ordering 100 base coupes, but I can order 80 Z51s.

Conclusion on price difference between GS vs Z51: $1700.00
Starting Price:
Stingray Coupe with Z51 - $60,450
Grand Sport Coupe- $65,450
However, the GS also comes standard with:
MSRC (1795$ option)
Z06 Grill (400$ trunk monkey + 305$ install cost)
Side skirts (500$ + 140$ install cost)
front splitter (105$ + 70$ install cost)
Note: Installation prices per Dina of Criswell Chevrolet.

I said the same thing, why wouldn't they just replace the Z51 with the Grand Sport like they did in 2010?

I cannot believe these labor prices. The Z06 grill took me an hour to do (start to finish) and front splitter about 15 minutes (don't need to lift the car)

Hi Aaron,
Here is the break down for you...
Our labor rate is $135 an hour.
Grille is 2.3
Front splitter .5
Side skirts 1.0
Steering wheel .6
The jobs are done by what the labor time book is, even if it takes the technician less time to do the job. These are GM certified technicians that specialize on Corvettes and that is their expertise. I'm sorry to say that these prices are really not negotiable.

Seems like someone at GM did a poor job on pricing strategy - I think the GS will eat away significantly from Z06 sales, and since the LT4 only costs $3,000 more than an LT1, they are leaving $10,000 in profit on the table?
With the GS at $3,255 more, the only thing that might balance it out is the extra $6-7,000 initial discount for a Z51 until the factory catches up with GS production; after that Z51 sales will be where base car sales were in 2013.
