Default Where to download working FAT32 for PDR?

Trying to find a suitable download for FAT32 for my PDR Video card, had one two months ago that seemed to work, but technicians working on the car messed up some electronics and lost the download on my card in the Z06

Can't believe this FAT32 download is so difficult to get to work without a Trojan Horse being flagged at each attempt.

Any advice from someone who has been successful would really be great...

Thanks in advance,

Ninja

You just need a utility to format it in fat32. There must be tons of formatting utilities for Windows if that's what you're using.

I converted some portable hard drives to Fat32 for my home stereo. I found larger volume hard drives always crashed when converting to Fat 32.

Do a Google search and you'll find some freebees for formatting in FAT32.

This is on cnet, but I'm an Apple guy so I have no idea if this is a good one or not. It's not that complicated, so hopefully this will work for you:

I'm assuming your using windows? If so, which version: XP, 7, 8, or 10?

Does the computer recognize the memory card? If so, you should be able to right click, format. Select Fat32 and you should be good.

**If the memory card is larger than 32GB, then you will need a third party utility.

As mentioned, I just did an internet search for a formatting program and downloaded it. I also believe that most versions of Windows will do formatting.

I got a couple micro SD cards with adapters so they will fit right into the SD card slot in the glove compartment - one 128gb, and one 256gb.

I got ready to try formatting one, put it in the SD card slot on my Windows laptop, and before formatting right clicked on it and selected "properties" just to check the capacity - and it was already formatted to Fat32!!!

I checked the other one, and they both turned out to be Fat32 formatted.

The PDR screen says the 128gb card has 3306 minutes of recording time, and 256 has 6614 minutes!!!!

So....if you haven't done it, just check your card to see if by chance it already is Fat32.

Keep in mind that buying ultra high capacity cards may not be the best plan. Although it is fairly rare these cards do fail and unless you are making copies "religiously" you could end up losing all of your recordings. Of course the same applies to losing the card.

That's what I do, and it works just fine. No down loads needed.

If the card is 32GB or less, Windows will format it with FAT32. If it is above 32GB, Windows thinks it is a regular external drive, and will format it with NTFS (not PDR compatible). For a memory card or usb drive above 32GB, I've been using the Verbatim FAT32 Formatter for years with Windows (including 10) with no issues.

Technically you can't download a USB stick - it's hardware!

Me too, I just plugged it in and it worked in the car and then I just plug it into my desktop and the videos open with no problems. Love the PDR.

I found that even if a new USB flash drive is already a FAT32 format, you will still need to reformat it before it will work in my '16. Ask me how I know.....
