Updated mine today, which was about as easy an update as could be imagined. Here was my procedure:
- Removed all MP4 files from the SD card (Sony 32gb Class 10 formatted FAT32) and copied the four update files into the root directory (i.e., not into a subdirectory).
- Put ignition in service mode (hold start button for 5 sec.). I did not start engine but connected battery tender to help keep voltage up, which showed 12.5V throughout the process, 12.0V being the minimum spec.
- Inserted card.
- Selected PDR mode from the main menu, it located the files immediately, and asked if I wanted to update the software, which I affirmed.
- It started and showed progress as a percentage. By the time I walked into the house to retrieve the instructions that I had forgotten it was finished, probably around 3-4 minutes. Did not need to repeat the update a second time.
- Once finished, delete the update files from the card or otherwise it'll ask you if you want to update every time you enter PDR mode.

I know the moderators have to follow a GM request, however these moderators should also inform GM that in this case owners of the car do a better job than the dealership.
Time is money GM as the saying goes and YOU (GM) are making all of us loose a lot of it.
It also will contribute to a better relationship between GM and its customers.
This is the age of technology, so please review your mandate and give us the tools to update our cars.

Can someone please pm me the PDR update files. Dealership said they did the update but it still shows old #s. Don't want to take up another half day at the dealership. Thanks

Did mine last night, and it was just as easy as described. I followed the instructions from above except the system wanted to restart and update a second time so I left the SD card in and ran it a second time. The whole process was only about 10 minutes... instead of what could have been a painful few hours at the dealership. Now have the new version with much improved video quality.
