10 speed automatic in the new ZR1 Corvette next?
Ok so I own a 2014 with a six speed automatic. Then in 15 along came the eight speed. I thought I had automatic envy but now all the Corvette owners with automatics will have 10 speed envy.
I should be clearer. The new Camaro ZL1 has a ten speed automatic.

I agree Nothing has been confirmed about the availability of the 10 speed in the 2017 C7s yet, even the Z06. In hoping that the bash will have give us more info on enhancements for the 2017s. Unless there are some leaks we will just have to wait. . I just don't want to wait until 2018 for the 10 speed.

All I know is, I had a 9spd chrysler rental for 2 months, waiting for insurance to fix a car I own. WORST transmission I have ever experienced. The thing never could decide which gear to be in. At moderate throttle it was fine, but at low and partial throttles, transition from cruise to acceleration and decel...my GOD...garbage. I would've burned that car if I'd been stuck owning it.
More isn't always better. I can see wanting the 8spd for the shift speed and capability but...I'd stop while you're ahead.
As interesting as the 8spd is, I'd still buy a manual. Simple=higher reliability long term.

I apologize to the Forum. I did not realize that the 10 speed subject had been discussed for some time. I do know this, I had a 4 speed automatic in a C5 and now a 6 speed automatic in my C7. In both cases I was perfectly happy with the performance of both cars.
I'll do a better job of research before I start a thread again.
