Burning Brakes
The software was defaulting to the "Rear view camera" even if there was only a front camera checked. The last test that was done showed the default problem. They are updating the software to default to the front camera, I will be able to uncheck the "Rear view camera" box and then when I manually turn on the camera it will default to the front camera and the video will come up correctly!
WOOT! Almost there, waiting for the go to upload the new software.
Hell, they even agreed that the problem wasn't the old guy doing a bad install! Hells Bells, it was the old guy doing the trouble shooting to fix ALL of the Corvette software.

Dunno, don't care. The problem has been found and I really think this device is going to be good for my splitter. I don't mind a little work if the work accomplishes something.

New software is on the Navtool server.
My Navtool works perfectly!
I press BACK, front camera comes up with video.
If I back up and go to DRIVE, the front video comes on.
I can manually turn on the front video and drive to Anchorage and the front video stays on!
I think they have fixed the software!

Ok, that got a giggle!
Thanks.
BTW, I had 23 e-mails from NavTool today working on this issue. All told I've had 120 e-mails from Navtool. He has always been polite to me and we've over come a possible language barrier to get the problem stated correctly and solved.
They have been trying to solve this even though they have been banned from the site. That in itself has caused added time in the trouble shooting process.
Maybe they're not so bad?
Elmer

from the looks of it here is my assessment
1. if you have an automatic it should work out of the box perfect, if not then send it back
2. if you have a manual then reprogram the unit and it should work, if not then send it back
3. if reprogramming makes things worse the try again with the options you want, if it doesn't work then send it back
If your front or side cameras don't work (black screen) and you are 100% positive you have a good power and ground (verified by a volt meter) and your rca jack to the navtool is good and has good connections (I would run an exterior rca jack to verify this) then send it back
there are success stories so we know its either: the year, transmission type, reprograming needed, or send it back. I know this isn't what guys want to hear but seems like the best approach with the least frustration. hanny

NavTool update
Okay
Went home last night tried the unit. Didn't work set at Manual and manual. Changed the settings to manual+ speed check for front camera and manual +w/o speed check for side cameras.
That worked!!
When I go from reverse to 1st the camera comes on and kicks out around 15mph.
When I put the directional on black screen comes up looking for cameras which hopefully get installed this weekend. I'll really know if everything works when the side cameras are installed but I am encouraged.
I'm just curious, what are the settings you guys are running with a manual trans and side cameras??
