Auto-Dimming rearview mirror upgrade
Has anyone added a 2LT/3LT auto-dimming rearview mirror to their 1LT Vette? If so, was it plug and play? Thanks.

Better question, is there a way to disable this on 2LT/3LT? I hate it.

I bought mine on ebay for $110. as it had a small chip on top edge. Solution was one of the neat laser cut aluminum frames! Very easy to install in a couple minutes. Also installed a Homelink visor. Best price on those was a GM wholesale parts supplier, not ebay.
I also did this to my 2 G8's. Auto day-night mirrors for those were under $50. used. Homelink units that mount in headliner are around $35.

I like my car, but there are two things that I absolutely wish I could disable, but GM didn't give the option to: 1) Hill hold feature on manual transmission cars and 2) Auto dimming rearview mirror (with the obnoxiously bright blue and red indicators.)
Note I've always used auto-dimming without even thinking about it on my other cars that have had it. It's too dark for me in the C7 with 35% window tint.

Unfortunately the center rearview mirror that I currently have was damaged when I had the windshield changed. The auto-dim mirror was only a couple of bucks more, so I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade. I'm surprised that GM didn't include a off button for it. That sucks.

I love mine, had the dealer install it. I attempted to install it but felt if I continued I might crack my windshield. I was following directions I found on this forum. The Tech at the dealer said it was a pain to install. My C-6 had the Auto Dimming Mirror and I had to have it on my C-7.

If you plan on tinting your windows then wait until after you've done that before deciding on the mirror.

Just curious, but does the non-dimming mirror have Onstar capability?
