Keeping my top quiet?
I am fortunate as my top is quiet, not a sound out of it so far and I have removed it at least 10 times. I want to keep it that way. What, if any, product should I use? I have always used Gummi Pflege on the rubber seals on my other cars. What about the pins and recesses on the top and the car? What should I use on them? Is lubricating the top something the dealer will do for free during an oil change? If not, I will do it myself but I want to do it right and use the right product(s). Thanks.

When I had my C6 the dealer lubed my top for free when I had it in for an oil change. I would just call the service dept. and ask them what they use if you want to do it yourself.

When I get noise from the roof it has nothing to do with the rubber seals, agree though a it is a good thing to keep a silicone lubricant on them or similar.
My noise always came from the latch itself , where the striker meets up. The two parts shifting against themselves on bumps etc. is where the noise is generated. I found success cutting a bicycle tire inner tube , takinga a 3/4" piece and locking it in place between the two parts when I closed up the roof. This stopped the two pieces from sliding against each other.
Last fall I had the new parts installed, striker and pins, yet to find out if that provided a long term solution as the car is still in storage waiting for spring. Crossing my fingers, if not I will go back to the rubber. It worked 100% of the time. Before that I had tried all the other solutions provided on the forum, 0 rings etc.. nothing had worked.

I have not experienced the noise with the C7, but when I do, I will have the dealer update both the front lift off panel strikers and both front locating pins per bulletin #15-NA-016 (Creak or Snap Noise Above Windshield from Removable Roof Lift Off Panel While Driving - Sep 30, 2015.
Now that GM has a bulletin for the repair, don't try to lubricate and possibly not be able to take advantage of the repair under warranty.
