SmarTop for Corvette?
On my 2014 Jag F-type, I was able to purchase a device that plugged into the convertible top system which allowed me one push or pull on the convert top button to open/close the top and either open or close the windows. It also allow me to open/close the top with the remote fob. I know that I can open the top with key fob but you have to hold the open button the whole time, with the SmarTop I just pressed lock or unlock three times to close/open the top.
Does anyone know if anything like this for the C7?

That would be nice, but I don't know of anything for these cars.

I've been looking for this as well. Just e-mailed Mods4Cars asking if they'll come out with a 1-touch product for the C7 convertible.
Here's their website to contact them: http://www.mods4cars.com/sms/shop/in...contact&menu=1
Maybe they'll understand the demand if enough of us reach out!

I can confirm the rumor that Mods4cars is working on a SmartTop for the C7, because they've been using my car for the prototype development. I contacted them a month ago begging them to develop for us because I had the product on my '09 BMW 335i and my '13 M3, and I loved the convenience. What it does is raise or lower the top with one touch - no holding the top down/up switch for the whole 30 seconds until completion. It works both from the inside switch and from the key fob.
The development seems to be going well (I've seen it in action), and the Mods4cars folks hope to have it to market by sometime this summer. I'll try to keep you updated from time-to-time as things develop. This would be a terrific addition for us convertible owners.

If the SmarTop work anything like it did for my Jag F-Type, I will purchase the vette SmarTop as soon as it is available.
cvwb, if you are working with Mods4Cars, please find out if they might be interested in a group purchase for our forum, if enough members are interested.

Or, Mods4Cars can certainly become a supporting vendor.

I wonder if the C7 is easier to program since the top can already lower while the car is in motion?

Since they are not a supporting vendor, they CANNOT do a group buy on the forum, nor can any member here front for them. I suggest you contact Massdrop. They are a supporting vendor and organizing Group Buys is what they do.

Update: I heard from Mods4Cars this week that they expect the SmartTop for the C7 convertible to be available within the next 6 weeks. The time-consuming part of the manufacturing process is the production of the wiring harness to make installation a straightforward plug-n-play operation. No word on pricing yet.
After using the prototype in my car for the last couple of months, I'm happy to report it's been working perfectly. Using the top up/down function with a simple one-touch of the dash button or key fob is so much more convenient that holding buttons down for 30 seconds that I find myself going top-down even for very short trips to the market, taking daughter to school, etc. I just can't imagine going back to the OEM way.

cvwb, Thanks for the update.
I miss my SmarTop that I had in a Jag F-Type. It worked so well and was so easy to install and use.
Does the Vette version also allow you to automatically have the windows go up after either raising or lowering the top?

Whether there will be additional functionality on the final product, I can't say. Mods4Cars has asked me to make my car available for more development/testing sessions, and I'll let them have it as needed.

I was thinking and I hope, at least, they add the windows going up when the top is raised. On my F-type it was nice to be able to put the top up and close the windows from outside the car. This was very helpful if I left the top down and then noticed that it was going to rain. Press the lock button three times from wherever I was, I was able to raise the top and close the windows so long as I was in remote range!

Checked with Mods4Cars as to when the Smartop will be ready for our cars. The current time frame is late August.
I really was hoping for something sooner since this is prime time for me to raise and lower my top. During the Fall, Winter and Spring, my top is down about 90% - 95% of the time and downs for days or week at a time.
However, living in Southwest FL, my top is up and down all the time during the summer. Because it might rain at any given second, whenever I leave the car, I must put the top up. Sometime I will raise and lower the top 5 - 6 times a day.
I want my Smartop!
