I painted my calipers on my C6. I used a brush on caliper paint. The paint held up well but brushing will never look as good as spray. If I had to do it again I would use spray. My calipers now are silver with my CRM exterior. They don't stand out and I'm fine with that.

I know because I did the same thing on one of my calipers. Little heat from a blow dryer, clean the area off with some alcohol and get another set of decals from tower.

At 60 mph who can tell.
Not worth the trouble.

Painting them while attached to the car is not a bad idea - I did it on my C5. I did take the calipers looks from the brackets, but the brake line remained attached. I wanted to be able to cover the back of the caliper too, thus the desire to take them loose from the bracket.

Find a good caliper painting kit (I use Folia Tec - available on the big auction site) and just be sure to clean the calipers well. Scuffing them up a bit might help with long term adhesion too.

has anyone painted their calipers and tracked the car? What did they look like after track heat? I had (until this past week) high temp reflective yellow "stickers" on my calipers. Worked great on the street and even after first day of HPDE at Sebring last weekend, until my instructor took me out in the car to show me what he wanted me to do to move up to next level...then the stickers baked the color out of the fronts. The adhesive stay and was a PIA to get off. I love the yellow but not doing it again if it is gonna get jacked up from track days.

Did you put something on the lettering before you started so you could wipe off the paint. I heard lip gloss works? or just wiped it off when a mistake happens on the lettering? Wipe with a dry rag or one with paint thinner or some other solvent? Sorry for so many questions but trying to avoid mistakes.

The CORVETTE lettering on the calipers is painted on. It easily sands off when you prep the calipers for paint. They are easily replaced with decals.

I think they are talking about the older calipers on the C6 with raised lettering

Default Caliper Decals

I know these are for C6 ZO6 (2013) calipers but I found decals on eBay from this seller. I ordered in advance of painting so I could see their quality.
