Default Painting calipers question, HELP

Just bought a Laguna Blue 15 vette and it has yellow calipers on it. Has anyone painted there calipers a different color. I would like to paint them red or blue, but the yellow does not work for me on a blue car. They were ordered yellow by the original owner when he bought the car, so it's a factory yellow option.

I think yellow looks great with the blue. I wouldn't paint them. Lots of folks would be happy to trade their calipers for Yellow. put and add in the classifieds. I would trade if you were in GA.

There's a company called g2 USA that has caliper painting kits. Their custom kit is $99 and they'll match any color. If you search Amazon they have standard kits for less. I think there are several DIY threads on how to do it.

Thanks, but I'm not pulling my off, leaving the car sitting while I work a trade. Just wanting to paint mine while on the car, if possible.

Count me in also. I detest the yellow calipers, especially since I bought the car off the showroom floor and had to pay extra for them. I wanted black calipers to go along with the black rims and all the carbon flash. However I would rather have yellow than red, but not by much.

I know some guys like the yellow calipers on a laguna blue car, which is fine, but I prefer black.

I've give you two choices regarding the photo below. The calipers were either:

a) Professionally powder-coated

or

b) Spray painted DSOM with a custom G2 kit and Preval sprayer while the car was sitting in my driveway on jack stands, by me

Black would be SUPER easy to do with them still on the car as you don't have to worry about metallic distribution, only runs. Take your time in setup and prep. There is plenty of space to get all sides of the rear caliper. The front one is easy to reach if you turn the wheels to the opposite lock.

Nice job on those! I am in the opposite boat of the OP, I have black calipers and wanted yellow LOL... I have been considering painting them, but don't want it to look like it was a homebrew job... yours look factory fresh! Maybe I will give this a shot :-)

Thanks, I definitely invested some research time to do this, mainly because I wanted to chose the exact color and I can't afford to let my car sit idle in a shop for a few days as it is a true DD. Don't want to hijack though, just wanted to show it could be done (and rather easily honestly, spent more time acquiring materials and prepping than actually swinging the spray can). Feel free to PM me if you want some more info on the process.

I have a full set of base C7 dark grey calipers for sale! $600 shipped. Just had my extra set powder coated and going on Monday, if the flu allows!

That way I had them coated and set the date at my convenience!

Hand (brush) painted mine and never regretted it. Make sure the paint is good for metal and weather, minimal taping required, and a rag wiped mistakes off the lettering while still wet - no sweat.Name: 2016-1.JPG

This is the best color for a blue car in my opinion. I did my Night Race Blue calipers in this Corvette blue.

I used the brush on G2 system on my 05 and 09 C6's.

The G2 is a two part paint with paint and a hardener. It's a high temperature epoxy paint that is very tough. Once painted on the caliper it "flows" to hide any brush strokes and ends up with a beautiful gloss finish.

Get a set of small artist bushes because the one in the kit us useless. Mix up half the paint/hardener and do two calipers and when done with them mix up the rest and do the other two.

I bought two kits. Got lazy on the C7 and just ordered them.
.

Loved those polished aluminum Gumbys.

I used the G2 custom kit in Laguna blue and decals from Tower Decals.
