What do you think about this panel fit?

****, my convertible top cover is about 1/2 inch from lining up with the inside part of the car. I just accept this as normal lack of QC and don't give a **** attitude of GM. Maybe I will have the dealer adjust it when I get the new torque converter installed. Better to get it scratched up all at once and get over it than to have to do it twice.

Are you really schedules for a new TC or are you just assuming that you will need one ...

No, I have been waiting for three weeks now. They diagnosed it as bad TC. Felt the shudder from day one but thought it was just how a supercharged motor felt going into boost. You will need one eventually too.

I just noticed this yesterday. Even though I didn't see it before (I've had the car for 18 months), I can't say with certainty that it hasn't always been this way. It seems that the fit should be tighter (which it is on the other side). Thoughts? Is this something that I can adjust myself or will a trip to the dealer be necessary? Thx.

mpuzach, you're the Corvette C7 sales specialist at your dealer and you're asking us about correcting a seam? Don't you trust your dealership? Doesn't bode well for the customers you sell to.
I'd still buy from you if I lived in your area.
You know I'm just funning with you.

I had my rear fascia off recently to install the larger transmission oil cooler by LG Motorsports as well as a new spoiler, and when I reinstalled the fascia I noticed the same wider gap on the right side only, due to the entire rear end sagging on the right side. Also, the uppermost of the three orange bayonet fittings you see on the right side in this picture was not snapping into place. I removed the entire fascia again and found that the plastic bracket which those bayonet fittings snap into had become detached from the inside of the fascia panel at its top end. This was allowing the fascia to sag and open the gap at the top. I mixed up some epoxy glue and reattached the upper end of the bracket. Those six bayonets are what aligns the rear end and controls those gaps.

Gentlemen this is real upsetting because GM has not found a fix and has not recalled the vehicles for this rear panel/fascia issue. I have a 14 Stingray I picked up from the museum, so the spoiler was already on it...and if the temperature reaches 85 it bulges out embarrassingly. Does anyone here know of a dealer that has fixed this properly? My dealer is applying epoxy glue as a fix. These dealers are great at selling these cars but servicing them is a dam headache.

After my rear bumper was taken off 2 times, I have noticed a gap at the top on the left side. Looks like most of the panel fit problems are on the drivers side. Seems to me the factory has a problem.

I just noticed this same issue on my '15 Z51. Taking it to the dealer next Monday to correct, as well as fix the creaking noise from the removable top.
The gap isn't too horrible at the moment, but it has separated enough now to notice a spot that didn't get paint on it from the factory, so it almost looks like someone took a flat tip screwdriver to the inside to separate the panel.
