This is the original caption that goes with the red '63 Split Window picture. GM did a great job in Prince's honor.

Whether you like Prince or his music, he will forever be tied/linked to our cars.

"Little Red Corvette" it's about sex, nothing to do about the car.

taken from YAHOO...

well... let's break it down for those of you who saw Prince for the first time at the superbowl...lol

Little Red Corvette
Prince

I guess I should’ve known by the way U parked your car
sideways that it wouldn't last (she's possably bi-sexual, a party girl)
See, U're the kinda person that believes in makin' out once
Love 'em and leave 'em fast
I guess I must be dumb cuz U had a pocket full of horses
Trojan and some of them used (she either gets around ALOT, or she's a prostitute)
But it was Saturday night, I guess that makes it all right
And U say - "What have I got 2 lose?"

And honey, I say Little Red Corvette
Baby, U're much 2 fast
Little Red Corvette
U need a love that's gonna last (here he's comparing her to a hot fast car aswell as a wild horse who needs to be tamed)

I guess I should've closed my eyes when U drove
me 2 the place where your horses run free
Cuz I felt a little ill when I saw all the pictures
Of the jockeys that were there before me (he realises she's been around the block once or twice... or several hundred times...lol)
Believe it or not, I started 2 worry
I wondered if I had enough class
But it was Saturday night, I guess that makes it all right
And U say - "Baby, have U got enough gas?"
Oh yeah! (are you going to be able to keep it up? lol)

Little Red Corvette
Baby, U're much 2 fast
Little Red Corvette
U need 2 find a love that's gonna last

A body like yours oughta be in jail
Cuz it's on the verge of bein' obscene
Move over, baby, gimme the keys
I'm gonna try 2 tame your little red love machine (he's going to try to whip her *ahem* business into submission?)

Little Red Corvette
Baby, U're much 2 fast
Little Red Corvette
Need 2 find a love that's gonna last, hey hey

Little Red Corvette
Honey, U got 2 slow down
Little Red Corvette
Cuz if U don't, U’re gonna run your little red corvette
right in the ground

Right down 2 the ground (Honey, U got 2 slow down)
U, U, U got 2 slow down

U're movin' much 2 fast, 2 fast
Need 2 find a love that's gonna last!

Girl, U got an a$$ like I never seen, ow!
And the ride...
I say the ride is so smooth, U must be a limousine

Ow!
Baby, U're much 2 fast
Little Red Corvette
U need a love, U need a love that's, uh, that's gonna last
(Little Red Corvette)
Babe, U got 2 slow down
Little Red Corvette
Cuz if U don't, cuz if U don't
U’re gonna run your body right into the ground
Right into the ground
Right into the ground

One other bit of info: There was a Billboard for the Chevrolet Corvette made from this song as well. It had the lyric "Little Red Corvette, baby ur much 2 fast" and Prince's logo over the Corvette. It was displayed behind the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2003

Really?

Anyone who grew up in the 90's knows what the words to that song mean. The fact is it's called "Little Red Corvette" is the point, not the content of the song or it's meaning. If you don't like Prince that is fine. I never liked that song but did think he had talent.

I'm sure some Corvette owners remember Jerry Lee Lewis ( I was not born yet). The guy was a complete A*s in my opinion and I can't not stand his music but some like it. That's why they are called preferences.

Why do some here over analyze EVERYTHING. Jesus.

Never liked his music. It's a shame about his drug overdose. It will make it even harder for people who need pain management to get help, and it's already difficult enough in this country.

They need to just legalize Marijuana across the U.S., it's a safer alternative to pills these days and can combat back and migraine pain very effectively. It's legally prescribed in Canada, in pill form, inhaler form, and every other form you can think of. I know a Physics professor in Toronto with chronic back pain, she literally moved to Canada because she could not get the assistance she needed here in the U.S. She does much better now and is able to function. She's even able to ride her bicycle to the campus most days. She could barely walk and suffered years of pain and agony here in the states (Santa Barbara, CA to be exact) because of our failed healthcare system.

30 million people (10% of the population in the U.S) ACTUALLY suffer from chronic back pain every day. I've had two surgeries and still have a LOT of pain from time to time, and the hassle to get pain meds even after carrying in my 2 inch thick medical files and showing the surgery scars is unbelievable. And there is nothing more they can do because all the money is being spent on HIV and Cancer treatments.

I get that a Drug Seeker's #1 complaint is "back pain" when seeking out pills, but man, tell a doctor you have back pain, and they immediately look at you like you are a criminal. Showing them the surgery scars and the files with the multiple MRI's the 200k that was spent on Surgery by a Neurosurgeon (who saved my life because I was about to end it the pain was so bad and so constant, I had given up and stopped eating and lost 57 pounds I didn't have to lose in under two months).

The big issue is people with Degenerative Disc Disease. Little known fact is the canal that holds the sciatic nerve tends to shrink over a period of years due to calcium build up, causing severe sciatica and neuropathy (extremely painful, I have it from my knees down, and live with it every day).

The shots, and the meds they prescribe do not work. I've had 5 sets (2 more than I'm supposed to have) injections in my spine to try and combat the pain. They missed the spot 4 out of 5 times. The 5th time was bliss for 2 days, then the pain came back.

I have seriously considered moving to one of the states where it is legal, the only problem with that is almost all of those states have very bad winters, when it is at its worst (thank god for heated seats). And I have no desire to move back to California. I have relatives there and every single one of them wants out of that state for various reasons.

That's pretty harsh but I see where you're coming from. I didn't boycott but I never liked his music. I'm not interested in artists who wear glitzy costumes. I thought it was dumb when he declared himself something like the former prince. That failed so now he's prince again. He had some serious issues. What I really don't understand is the 24 hour 4-5 day continuous coverage about him, even on Fox Business Channel. I couldn't get away from it. I was forced outside It's not like was Jagger or anything. I respect he donated to good causes but the coverage was just crazy.
I'm done venting. I hope nobody was offended.

You can't use the word Corvette 12 times in a song produced in the USA and not have it be about the Corvette, no matter the subliminal backdrop. A nice combination , sexuality and the Corvette, makes sense to me. BWTF I'm just the owner of a little red Corvette...
