Outside of GS, you shouldn't have expected anything new. And the GS is really a rearrangement of existing parts with some minor changes.
This is because all the engineering effort is going to the Mid-Cycle update in 2018, and has been for the last 12 months.

The car is perfect as is. Nothing major can be done until the C8...that's why I bought the 2016. (Seriously, I was thinking along the same lines as minor upgrades such as complete carbon fiber console not just the dash, heated steering wheel, blind spot detection) but now I'm happy I didn't wait.
My thought process as well when I bought my 2016 Stingray.

When GM drops the DOD, stop the need for a catch can, fixes the flaky windshields, and all the crap that is breaking I might go back to get one again.
Until that time I will enjoy my Miata.

My DOD has never been allowed to activate, my car runs perfect without a catch can, and my windshield is flawless. Nothing has broken on the car. It's been deadbolt reliable and a blast to drive.
You're missing out on a great time.

It needs a hp bump, should be 505 just like the last z06. They never made a proper z06 yet, just that supercharged zr1 replacement. Tired of chevy whining over emissions. Give us tubular headers like bmw put on their last v8 m3 with easily removable front cats. Obviously emissions crap isnt hurting audi making 610hp with their 5.2L lamborghini sourced v10 in the new R8.

Nobody has a problem with GM recycling cup wheels from the previous generation? That was an odd move to me. The GS should have a new, exclusive wheel.

That's why I have both.... The Corvette is fantastic.... No issues other than the fonstar module, but that is an easy fix.

with half the displacement of a C7 all day long.

After owing 15 or so Corvette's and 10 or so Miata's the C7 was a disappointment.
My next Corvette won't be a C7, it might be a C5Z or a C6 or ZR1, but not a C7.
I'm 67 I don't need 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye, if I did I would buy a Tesla then beat any Corvette or Hellcat for that matter in the 1/4 mile.

I have several reasons.
Since Teslas driven by moms started keeping up.
Since they added so much weight to the c7 the 460hp isnt enough.
I should be buying a c6 z06 or zr1 but i cant get over how dated they look. From the back to the untrained eye its close to a c4 in looks! I want the new styling but throw me a bone on a little more power Chevrolet.

Collector edition GM's going to collect your money for nothing gimcracks wheels interior color and a plaque. Now if indeed it had horse power up and some other things might be worth a look. I have 16 Z06 less than a month old if wife wouldn't raise **** I would trade for 7 speed auto sucks.

Those were quite possibly the best looking stock 'Vette wheels ever made so I don't have a problem with them being on the GS.

Said the guy who is enjoying the F**K out of the Miata at half the price of the corvette, btw the other half is in my pocket @ 40 MPG. you don't need 400+hp in a 2200 lb car to have fun.
