Default There HAS to be more changes for 2017

In addition to colors and wheels, 2016 new features included the C7.R, Design Packages, front cameras, power cinch hatch, updated infotainment, starter button, and exposed carbon hood.

For 2017, the cat is out of the bag with the GS and colors. Although the order guides are out, I can't believe that there are not more changes to come considering it is the 4th MY for Stingray and 3rd for the Z06.

I'm going to the Bash so I will know in 48 hours, but I am absolutely banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what else lies in store.

My guess is that some type of technology (e.g., review mirror camera, blind spot, automatic braking) has to be part of it. But if there are no performance improvements, there HAS to be some other functional changes. Hope I'm not disappointed for making the drive.

The car is perfect as is. Nothing major can be done until the C8...that's why I bought the 2016. (Seriously, I was thinking along the same lines as minor upgrades such as complete carbon fiber console not just the dash, heated steering wheel, blind spot detection) but now I'm happy I didn't wait.

Since the order guides are out I really don't think there is much else new for '17. The Corvette race team will not be at the Bash this year due to the races in CA this weekend and it was also speculated that Tadge wouldn't be there either. The schedule of events includes some tours of local attractions, etc. so in my opinion this is not a Bash with a lot of content. Every model year will not have major changes or announcements and this year appears to be one of them. If something is released on the Z06 then it would be a Bash exclusive, but otherwise most everything else newsworthy has already been out there for several weeks.

I predict a larger price on the window sticker.

you will be disappointed then. The changes are as stated in the 2017 Order Guide.

Did I read it right when I saw a COLLECTOR EDITION will be offered later in the 2017 model year... That is a big deal that nobody seems to be talking about....

IMO, the GS is mostly a new configuration of existing parts. There are no (significant) new features associated with it (other than the hash marks and custom interior trim).

I agree-we don't need change for the sake of change. If there are no significant ones taking place this year so be it. Every generation has had a period within its' cycle that there were not big differences between model years. Granted, it's harder for the marketing/sales department to entice current C7 owners to trade their 1-3 year old cars for a newer one that is essentially the same car except for some options. Major styling changes would likely jack the prices due to costs of retooling & EPA recertifying any HP bumps would be required for mechanical changes.

Not much change seems appropriate for a ground up, no excuses C7 design. It's why I got a 2015 at a discount when the lots were full of 2016s. Only thing I missed was a MyLink upgrade and some nose cameras that I might have wanted but really didn't need. I took the 14% off of msrp instead.

GM is building a new paint facility at BG, that will be completed in 2017, so hopefully we see major paint upgrades for 2018

I still think there is going to be a HP bump, which is why Z06 production is being delayed until Sept.

If there isn't an HP bump and the 2017 ZL1 Camaro makes 640 HP, I see Z06 sales dropping like a rock as people migrate to the GS (Z06 lite) and the ZL1 for less money.

Can't recall where is heard this but i believe they are working on some new aero for the Z06/7, something that has a wing on the back. This is because the Viper ACR trounced the Z06 in the last Motortrend comparo.... Some Carbon fiber wheels and Active Aero would significantly improve the Z06

the idea is to leave most of the car alone but a few add ons, that cost big $$ would continue the profit markup parade...

Im surprised there wasnt the addition of blind spot mirrors and a power bump of about 25 hp.
