Clutch on 2014
Being a recent owner of a 2014 2LT M7 I have a question about how the clutch feels. Does it seem that you have to let way out before it to grab and then you hit a spot where if you don't time it right it will stall if the RPMs are not just right (very sensitive to that spot). I've owned several Corvettes with manuals (currently an '07 ZO6) and driven many manual autos over the years. None of them have felt anything like the Stingray. Is it unique to this car or should I have it looked at? I've driven it enough to where I get use to it, but still feel it's unlike any other car I've owned because the feel is so much different.

That doesn't sound right to me at all. I'd get it looked at. Good luck!

I have a 2014 and it is always smooth, consistent and easy to modulate. I can hot into other manual vehicles that seem similar to my C7. I agree with Rooster, have it checked.

On my 2014 the clutch grab point always feels like it is at the top 1-2 inches. My transmission is also a bit grumpy when starting out and you really feel the shifts for the 1st five minutes Frequently I feel that I need to be gentle with it until it warms up.
I don't usually have any stalling issues as I have a pretty heavy right foot. My wife stalls it occasionally as she rarely drives the Corvette and does not like to use the accelerator pedal enough.
My sons 2016 the clutch feels slightly better and his gear box is way smoother when cold than mine is.

My '15 was like that when new, now with 20,000 miles on it it is not so touchy. Or maybe I am used to it. There was a lot of talk about this when the cars first came out and it was just "part of the package". Won't hurt to take it to the dealer, but chances are that it is with in normal conditions.

My 2014 M7 needed 2,000 miles and a parade to smooth out. The parade probably contributed the most. The clutch grabbed and I stalled the engine quite frequently at first. Another problem was I had a M6 C6, the C7 clutch has a different engagement point.

2016 stingray. Late and grabby. Is it possible to adjust this? I also don't like how long the throw is (distance traveled by the pedal).

I have a 2015 and it grabs pretty high too, probably 3/4 up or so. When I first bought it I stalled it several times. It is definitely sensitive and stalls very quickly if you let it out too quickly and/or not enough gas.
I'm also thinking the hill holder, when active, makes it easy to stall too.
I used to think it was me after I bought the car. Then I jumped in my friend's Cobalt, I believe, and had zero issues with driving that manual.
The C7 has a great manual transmission, just takes a bit to get used to and familiar. I don't think anything is wrong with your car.

I had to make peace with my 2014 hill hold system. I discovered you have to always test it to see if it has activated. To test, release the brake and see if the car drifts, reapply brake. About 50% of the time my car's hill hold will already be set, but you don't know for sur until tested. My car will always set hill hold if the car drifts. I have not heard if the hill hold system has been upgraded with the newer models.

Still can't view it. Maybe give us an update after you get your car back and repost the doc then in a different format?

I just drove my friend's Camaro and stalled it twice at first for the same reason. It grabbed up high and was so spring loaded that I had to get used to not letting it go so quickly. Wanted to see if the Corvette had same grab point and looks like it does. I have a daily driver Civic Si and that clutch grabs about 1-2 inches from the floor which is great in my opinion. His Camaro reminded me of my 97 Porsche Turbo with how high it grabbed. I had a stick 87 vette and the worst part there was how heavy the clutch was, not how high it grabbed.
Now I'm thinking A8 may be the way to go. Will have to test drive a stick to see if 2017's act the same. Thought my mind was made up on stick vs. A8, guess not..........
