National Corvette Museum Birthday Bash Information

I was hoping for a thread like this. Thanks, c6corvette!
I am really liking the Watkins Glen grey with the pop of the bright color hash marks. I just wish one could get the tension blue without the full collectors edition package or just get the hashes without the center stripe.

Just got back from the bash/museum and uploaded a bunch of pictures to my onedrive.
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resi...t=folder%2cJPG
Mostly pictures of the museum since there really weren't any new announcements other than the Grand Sport.
The Michigan plated Grand Sports are identified as "Captured Test Fleet" vehicles.

Photos from The Bash
Here is a link to some miscellaneous photos I took during the Bash. Quality is not great but for those that couldn't make it I thought they might like to take a quick look.

I had the same question. These numbers are significantly different (much lighter) than the published numbers in the 2016 catalog. The Z06 in particular is listed as being almost 200 lbs lighter in the powerpoint presentation. Almost as if dry weights are being reported.

Obviously those are not curb weights, which are the weights that one always sees reported in every magazine test and car brochures. My 2014 Z51 M7 with mag ride came in at 3411 lbs, and my friend's 2016 Z06 (non Z07) came in at 3560 lbs, both with nearly full fuel tanks. Ferrari reports dry weights, with no fuel, no oil, no coolant, no windshield washer fluid, no transmission or diff oil. Not sure why they would report such weights for the Corvette, as you can never drive the cars that way.

Thanks for sharing. Outstanding images. Greatly appreciated.

The "dry weights" are just silly. The cars are getting fat and they're doing all they can to make it seem lighter.

radiators
Did GM say if the Grand Sport would get the largest manual trans cooler (Z06) and the secondary radiator installed as standard equipment, along with the Z06 radiator fan? The Z06 two piece rotors should help with brake cooling, compared to the Z51, for track use. Increased aero drag will also mean the car is slowing from a lower top speed AND won't need to slow as much with the increased traction from the wider rear tires and improved downforce from the Z07 spoilers. I would like to see if the GS can hit 150 before braking at the end of the back straight at COTA. My Z51 can do that, if I wait until the 200 meter marker. I can't do that every lap, or I risk overheating the brakes.
