Default Rear Spoiler (Wing) Issue!!

Has anyone had trouble after installing the rear spoiler (wing) with the trunk door falling down?

It appears that the weight of the wing is too much and the trunk door falls down, has anyone had this issue? if so, how was it fixed?
Are there any aftermarket struts for the trunk door that can hold more weight?

Please HELP!!!!!

It's the car's subtle way of saying "get this thing off of me!"

On a slightly separate note, i see you have the big spoiler on the back deck as well. Now i can't tell for sure based on the pictures but wouldn't the air off the spoiler be hitting the bottom of the wing and causing lift ?

Taking the spoiler off might actually be better, and how are you adding more front downforce to compensate for the anticipated additional rear downforce, otherwise the front of the car will lift up a bit and become less efficient.

To answer your original question, take the strut to an autoparts place and see if it matches up with a SUV tailgate strut, which usually has much more weight to lift.

Cut a piece of PVC pipe, paint it black, and carry it in the cargo net.

How much hp does it take to keep the car moving with the down force produced by this wing? 650 surely isn't enough!

I thought of a few choice words but then I remember some sound advice given to me years ago, "if you can't say anything nice, it's best not to say it at all."

If you took off the rear spoiler, the wing would be OK.

I love that high wing job! I'm looking for one just about like that. Better than any of the Mickey Mouse Oem options imo. That baby is way too cool!

Gas struts can be purchased in different lengths and strengths. You just need to buy a pair of stronger ones the same size. Good luck.
