C7 Z51 tires needed, advice?
It's time for tires on my 2014 z51 after 16,000 miles. What are the best options out there other than just the michelin pilot super sport ZP? I would like to keep run flats since our cars aren't exactly towing friendly or flat friendly.. Is there a better tire available? Or another brand that are run flats? Or should I forget running run flats? Where is the best place to buy them from with free shipping? I'm in Arkansas. Any post or advice is greatly appreciated. I'm also open to a good used set should any of you have some pull offs.

I'm gonna go Pilot SS non-runflats when I change.

A timely post for me. After a long road trip, I'll probably need tires near the end of the month. Think I'm going to go with non RF tires and roll the dice. Probably going to go with Tire Rack, as others have suggested. Also will check Discount Tire and Costco.

Non Runflat MPSS for me as well when it's time. Absolutely in love with the MPSS on track and street. It's a decent AutoX tire as well if you get some heat into them first.

If you are considering all season goflats I highly recommend Continental DWS 06.

Unfortunately if you want to keep run flats, the best tires in z51 size are the michelin pilot super sport ZP's. There was rumor that Michelin was going to make an AS run flat in z51 sizes, but so far have not seen a definitive answer

Ok, reset. This is like asking "what girl should I marry"?
Here are questions only you can answer
1. Am I ever going to drive my car on the racetrack?
2. Am I ever going to drive my car in sub-zero conditions or snow?
3. How important is ride quality vs handling?
4. Do I drive in the rain a lot?
5. How many miles do I drive each year?
Ultra-high performance tires are engineered to excel at one of these attributes, at the expense of others... the the right tire depends on which of these qualities is most important to you.

Michelin engineer said at the Bash that Michelin AS3+ runflats WILL be available in October in the base 18/19 and Z51 19/20 OEM sizes but NOT for GS or Z06 models.

These are great points for discussion guys. I do love the grip of the super sports. The back tires on my car are still good, they're not worn to the wear indicators yet. The fronts are getting bad, and the inboard sides of each front tire are worn far worse than the rest of the tire. I'm assuming an alignment issue here. Those continentals sound interesting, as you say they're quiet with a smooth ride. Do they pull or follow the grooves in the roads? We have terrible roads here in Hot Springs, are tax dollars are obviously going somewhere else.

The MPSS run flats:
-Great turn in
-Heavy, loud, and bad rear end traction once 70% worn.
MPSS non run flats:
-compliant, better rear end traction, slightly sloppy turn in
*The 285s are slightly more narrow than the OEM 285s and look a bit stretched.
I went through 2 sets of each. I would go with the non-run flats and just carry a plug kit and compressor.
I'd be tempted to try run flat fronts, and 295 rears non run flats for the best MPSS setup.
If you are simply looking to save some cash, just buy some OEM take-offs.

I run the Michelin Pilot Super Sport A/S 3's.
Non-Run Flat, but great ride and you can use then year round!
I have 30,000 miles on them with no appreciable wear.

Have seen no data that says any other tire gives documented better handling.
You indicate in another post your rear tires are OK. Why not buy the OEM replacements for th front and have a front alignment??
If you have another reason to change, like wanting al-season tires, be prepared for reduced summer traction. If you never test the limits perhaps you won't notice.
You can get quieter tires but I bought a Z51 for performance and on certain pavement, just play the radio louder!
In SC I don't need better cold weather performance and will definitely get OEM replacements when needed. Just Sayn'.
