Love the Wave and other reminiscences
Love the Corvette wave and camaraderie with other like minded enthusiasts. It reminds me of the days with my 1984 3-series BMW we picked up new from the factory in Munich. Back in those days BMW was just beginning to transition from an enthusiast mark to a status symbol and owners greeted each other when meeting on the highway with IIRC a headlight flash.
Those days are long gone for BMW but it reminds me of some more recent issues with the Corvette brand. The '84 BMW body style brought some controversy among the purists that said "real BMWs have round tail lights" - sound familiar? I personally never had a problem with the C7 tail lights. My "purist" crisis came with the C6 and the exposed headlights and that along with the C5.5 belief kept me from ever upgrading. However, after 13 years in a C5, I came to really miss the ability to signal other drivers with a headlight flash and now really appreciate the exposed headlights of my C7.
Please excuse the ramblings and reminiscences of an aging Corvette die-hard. I just hope the new generation of Corvette owner, and particularly the first time buyer, continue the tradition of the Corvette Wave.
Save the Wave!

Same here. I am thinking the "WAVE" is dead or dying. I wave and the other driver just looks at me like I'm crazy. I guess I need to trade for a Harley because they do their motorcycle "wave" all the time.

I recently sold my Jeep Wrangler and I will have to say that it could be the most annoying thing ever because everyone and their grandmother has a Jeep Wrangler and honestly your waving every 2 seconds.
The Corvette Wave is much less and a hell of a lot better to wave to a nicer car.

I always wave, but it isn't always reciprocated. But, I hope that the ones that don't wave back learned something that day.

I wave, and my wife laughs at me, and tells me I'm funny.
I see some people are distracted, are looking in a different direction, and just miss my wave. I know I've been guilty of missing a couple, and caught them too late to respond.
Down here in Florida we get a pretty good return rate on the waves.

Bring back the wave! I love it. Reminds me of cruising the '77 VW Westfalia Van...honks and waves all the time.
First time Vette owner and I love this tradition and will promote it every time I get a chance!

I'd say proudly say that the Chicago area is about 80% wave back. Men, woman, old, young and frequently enthusiasticly. The occasional one that doesn't wave back, I catch starring at my Z06

My wife waves with me, or for me if i'm looking the wrong direction. I'd estimate a 75% return rate in our area. We even got waves driving around the NCM at the Bash this year. That'll wear your arm out!

Seems like the wave is all but gone lately in the So Cal area. I keep waving and get no return and the wife just laughs and says give it up you look like an idiot. I say nope going to continue waving.
