Default MyLink ''Weather''

I have seen some C7 videos on YouTube where the MyLink screen has a 'weather' icon. My doesn't, is this an option (assuming with NAV)

Me thinks you have to have a Nav system to get this service. I don't have the Nav, and so no weather link.

I will say it's a good service. I have it on my truck, and use it often.

My 3LT has it, but I don't see a real use for it. I usually just check the weather while deciding what to wear, using my phone. Seems superfluous to have it in the car, when my phone already has it, and is also in the car.

Sure! I sent you a pm back with my contact number, and my schedule restrictions. My Corvette is in the shop for x-pel installation right now, but I hope to have it back tomorrow.

One thing I found helpful is if your in a storm you can see where the clouds are, and where they are moving. That way I can decide if I want to keep driving, or just stop at the nearest Starbuck's until it's over.

Of course being retired, and not needing to be anywhere at a certain time is the key to this use.

Yeah, I don't generally have that kind of flexibility. Plus I hate Starbucks.

I have it on my '15 3LT.

Reading the Info manual it says:

Weather (If Equipped)
Press the WEATHER icon to display the Weather main page. See “SiriusXM Travel Link Weather (If Equipped)” under Destination on page 37.

Of course there isn't any mention of it on page 37.

There is mention of it on page 50. It says:

SiriusXM Travel Link Weather (If Equipped) SiriusXM Travel Link Weather is available on the navigation system through a service fee subscription.
From the Home Page, press Weather. The system displays the current weather page.

Conclusion is Weather is part of the Navigation system and provided by SiriusXM under subscription.

(Whew)

Weather is part of Sirius XM. I use the radar display quite a bit to avoid storm cells, would like to see a more enhanced presentation.

X2.

I would also like to see the wether radar directly overlayed on the navigation screen so you don't have to keep flipping back and forth between the nav map and the separate weather radar map.

In my airplane, I don't mind deviating 50 miles to avoid a thunderstom, but I just can't get too motivated to do that in my car.

On a long trip last fall I found that the weather displays the conditions where you are as well as the next few major cities on your route - if you have a route in the nav system, that is.

Kind of a cool feature.
