Going to order a 2017 vert in fall. Trade in is a 2014 vert. Love the C7 convertible. Dealers stock coupes and automatics. I don't expect to ever purchase a Corvette from dealer's stock.
If I may ask, why such an early trade? 2017s are not that different....then again I keep cars forever, and even when I get a new one, chances are I still will keep the old one. Running out of room though.
Never will I buy a coupe again, just love the vert, as it really is so much fun. Matter of fact have a Camaro drop top too. Double the pleasure double the fun.
If they only made coupes I would not buy the C7. Ordered my vert in summer of 2013 and have manual 7-speed. I don't mind being in the minority. I love it.
got the hots for a ZO/7 convert,white, blue top, blue interior, standard shift, but promised the wife an automatic this time so we got a crystal red coup, auto. OH well least it's a vette.
My C6 had to be a convertible. The lines on the C7 Stringray coup are so sharp I had to order one. They make both for a reason, Choices and preferences. Like em all

I bought a '16 Z51 convertible off the dealer floor last November. It's an M7 so it appears that the production numbers for that configuration should be relatively low.
1. I do not like the look without the side vents on top. Not a huge consideration but doesn't look the same.
2. Storage room. We travel, a lot. As it is we ship stuff to our destination and back home. Not unusual for us to pack the car and be gone for 10 days.
If the lack of storage was not a big concern I would have done it. You may not think a coupe has a lot of room but you can pack a ton of crap in one.
No offense, but if you cannot pack for ten days in a vert, you need to ride up here and let us teach you how it's done. We've got lots of guest space...
Two weeks touring the west...just got back a few days ago.
As far as room for for stuff we have traveled on a Harley many times and have been fine . No problem with all the convertibles we have had . Just don't bring the kitchen sink .
Never seems like fun traveling on a bike. Getting the crap whipped out of you. Even on a smooth bike. I'll take the car every time. Just take the top off if want the sun.
