Gahhh, I can't ever decide!!
I waited so long to get a vette the grand sports are already in discounted pre orders.
So should I get a 3lt 2014, comp seats, mag ride z51 for 53k or just pre order a stripper grand sport for 62k (with discount) it is 10k more with taxes, but that widebody!!
Or just get a 2016 z06 now for 76k brand new.

If the money is not a big issue, than get the Z06. As suggested drive one and you will want one.

I dont need 650hp so im just buying the z06 for body/wheels really. Thats the thing. Driving a c6 z06 with 505 was more than enough for me.

Get the GS. You get all the new stuff over the 14 plus the looks you want. You won't have it til the end of summer though.

Get the GS, wide body looks, NA engine; especially if it's going to be a daily driver.

I'd go for the GS - get the latest updates to the C7 as well as a full factory warranty.

But a stripper GS is calling my name too, especially as they get closer to $60k. I think that's the sports car bargain of the century.
A C7 Z06 is a bit too pricey for me to rationalize, and especially because I'd like to do a few track days it's not on my list.

Why not search for a 1LT Z51 equipped the same way? Perhaps a couple of grand cheaper.

Grand sport, heritage stripes package, and nothing else, should be close to 62k. Stock stereo is usually crap so the extra subwoofer on 2lt or 3lt isnt a selling point. im going to upgrade the seats later anyways so could likely add in heating/cooling if I really felt like it. For nav my smart phone in the cupholder works good. I really dont need a front bumper camera, fancy HUD or heated/dimmed mirrors for $4500.

I agree that the higher trim points do not hold value; so if you're looking at saving, that's the best place to start. For me personally, I need memory seats and front curb cameras; those are by no means crucial, and there is the after market.
