Default Opinions wanted!

Please...your honest opinion(s) only!...

I just placed an order on a 2017 GS...3LT....Long Beach Red.

Normally, I don't add appearance options but I an considering the Carbon Flash Stinger stripe. The carbon fiber hood insert would be great but at $1995, it was a bit too rich for my checkbook!

So here is my question...anyone order the Carbon Flash Stinger stripe. and how does it look?....any problems with it...peeling, fading, etc.?...

If you didn't order the Carbon Fiber Stinger Stripe, what did you order?

Pictures?

Thanks in advance!

Here's the stinger on a 16 Z51 LBR I think it looks great. I've only had it 2 months so can't answer the questions regarding how it wears. Pardon the dirty tires.

I have the stripe and I like it a lot. It breaks up the color (DSOM) by adding some visual contrast/interest. I suspect you will like the stripe as well. Oh, and no problems with anything you mentioned.

if you get the exposed carbon roof with the exposed carbon fiber hood insert and add a carbon fiber hood vent it looks AWESOME!!! After ordering a 2017 GS 3LT why does the checkbook become an issue

Don't do it! Hell NO! Yes it looks good, yes I like it, but you can have carbon flash stripes put on your vehicle how ever you want them for a fraction of the cost GM is charging you.......And they are made of the same material! I work at a GM dealership and I have had different types of stripes put on several corvettes over the years (after market) from a good vinyl shop and never had a problem with wear, fading or anything. My current vette was done, hood, top truck and back for under $400 in Carbon flash, GM charges 4 times this much for less!

Yes, your 'vette looks terrific!....

I was thinking about getting it done but I really don't know a 'vinyl shop' which I can trust. Most of the ones around here don't stay in business very long!

Buying from GM... it is pricey but it is like buying insurance...I don't like to take risk!...especially with an $80K car...to save a few hundred dollars...

Thanks for your input!...

I like the way a stinger looks, but the nice thing is you can always take it off if you get bored with it. I say go for it!

I love the hood stinger on the C7. I'm old enough to remember with fondness the special hoods used on big block C2s and C3s; I ordered the stinger on my 2015 because it offers that little bit of distinction while paying homage to those legendary Corvettes. I've had my car for nearly two years; the hood is still one of my favorite styling cues and the factory-installed stinger still looks perfect. BTW, somewhat to my surprise I've learned that minor scuffs and scratches on the stinger can be polished out with a simple one-step cleaner wax, leaving no trace of the scuff or scratch.

Sorry, but a waste of money. You are paying GM $500 for a $20 piece of vinyl. Seriously, Any vinyl shop can do what you want for under $100.
