White C7, stripes, see through roof with VETTESKINS
I bought the dual roof thing. My "winter" roof and my "summer" roof. It's the good life for sure.
Anyway..
I wanted to gussy up the plain black transparent roof. So I bought vette skins. If you have stripes, high5, here's what it looks like with vette skins on the transparent top

thanks, I was pleasantly surprised. they are thick'ish, and you can tell it is not factory when you stare long enough from certain angles.
Well worth the 150, as opposed to having the roof painted. I suspect removal isn't too hard.

That looks good Ben! The transparent top looks a lot better that way.

You guys thinking about blacking out the center of the halo to extend the black from the roof? I'm a big fan of that look.

The white looks good on the roof.

It's plastic that is painted with factory color with very thin 3M tape on the complete underside of the piece. Very thin, so you don't notice any thickness to the piece.

I will say the painting probably is a more permanent solution and looks better since it wraps around the roof better. With that said, for $100 and some change, I'm very happy with the results with vetteskins.

it does look much better, stripes or not.
I can't believe how much I love the transparent roof. I kept it off for a long time because, well, it's getting hotter and, I just wasn't into the look with the stripes.

looks great!! i have the vetteskins for my shark gray but have been hesitant to put them on, but seeing yours I'm going to do it soon. Any tips on the install????
PS How did you get it "perfect" on the roof? I wish it installed like window tint where you wet it and move it into place then let it dry, but it just sticks on, so i am nervous i will put it on crooked...

Sharkster, good question. The directions are scant.
I peeled off the entire backside, lined it up on the thicker side, and slowly started to lower it on the top edge down to the right hand side where the vetteskin tapers to the point.
It will stick slightly here and there, just pull it back up.
I practiced a few times first, and i'm glad I did (with the backing still on) because they cut these things very precisely. In other words, it looks a few millimeters too long, but once you line it up perfectly, it is the exact fit.
Making this easier, I think, was that I left the roof in the sun, on top of a large blanket in the driveway for an hour or so. the vetteskins next to it (the directions state that you should do this when the temperature is at least 75 degrees).
It was in the high 80s. I suspect that having everything pretty hot helped me line it up better and make a few corrections.
